Ex-Zynga Devs' Mobile Studio JuiceBox Games Raises $2.5 Million

JuiceBox Games, a mobile gaming studio founded by three ex-Zynga developers, officially launched itself out of stealth today and announced the raising of $2.5 million in seed capital. Initial Capital led the round, with other investors including General Catalyst, former EA CEO John Riccitiello and former Zynga engineering VP Scott Dale. JuiceBox’s first game, an RPG called HonorBound, launched in February and peaked at No. 40 in the overall iOS top-grossing charts, according to App Annie. CEO Michael Martinez said JuiceBox is continually adding new content to the free-to-play game, but hopes to release a second game next year.
