The CEO and co-founder of the hot transportation service is not shy, as you will see here.

As promised, we will begin posting the full videos of the recent Code Conference.

A new video of one of the many stellar speakers for the event, which took place just over a week ago in Palo Verdes, Calif., will go up every day. (You can see a compilation video of the speakers here.)

Today, we kick it off with Uber CEO and co-founder Travis Kalanick, who was what I would call “cheeky” in his onstage interview with me. Brimming with confidence, the pugnacious and longtime entrepreneur — who is finally hitting it big — even previewed the mega-funding that was much rumored and finally announced this week.

By mega, we are talking about $1.4 billion in new investment at a pre-money $17 billion valuation headed to the coffers of the San Francisco-based transportation service. As Liz Gannes wrote:

“It’s the largest valuation yet for a private tech company in a sea of incredibly highly valued private tech companies. Yes, ‘record-breaking,’ as CEO Travis Kalanick promised at the Code Conference last week.”

In this interview, Kalanick vowed that Uber would use the giant war chest to fight rival Lyft (via price cuts and massive expansion) and fight a hard-nosed public relations battle with the “asshole” taxi industry.

In other words, Kalanick is not shy, as you will see in the full video of the Code interview:
