Cable Haters Gonna Hate: Full Code Conference Video of Comcast's Brian Roberts

Just because he gave us some dough doesn't mean we can't put him in the red-hot seat.

Let’s get this disclosure out of the way tout de suite: Comcast’s NBCUniversal unit is an investor in Revere Digital, the parent company of Re/code.

And Comcast CEO Brian Roberts runs the big show at the cable giant. Still, we think you will find this interview we did with him at the Code Conference rather lively and interesting.

Of course, there’s so much to talk about. For one, Roberts is pressing regulators to approve his $45 billion deal to acquire Time Warner Cable, while others think Comcast already has too much control over the pipes — no one more than Netflix and its voluble CEO, Reed Hastings, whose full Code video we posted yesterday and who has complained loudly about how Comcast has too much control over Internet connectivity.

There’s a lot to chew over, and Roberts did so with Walt Mossberg and me. He also did a demo of Comcast’s new X1 entertainment operating system platform.

As promised, we’re posting the full videos of interviews from the recent Code Conference. A new video of one of the many stellar speakers for the event, which took place just over a week ago in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., will go up every day. (You can see a compilation video of the speakers here.)

Here’s the full Roberts video:
