It's a Yahoo Reunion, as LivingSocial's Spolan Joins Rosensweig at Chegg

He'll be the EVP of marketing services at Chegg, where Rosensweig is CEO.

Mitch Spolan spent 12-plus years at Yahoo before leaving for the top sales gig at LivingSocial three years ago. Now’s he’s hooking back up with one of his favorite former superiors, Dan Rosensweig, at online education services company Chegg.

Spolan, who will remain at LivingSocial for another two weeks, has been named EVP of marketing services at Chegg, where Rosensweig is CEO.

In that role, he will oversee sales for three of the company’s emerging divisions, including its brand partnership business and a new college-focused deals business. The core print and digital textbook business will not fall under his purview.

In an interview, Spolan spoke very highly of his time at LivingSocial, but said the combination of Chegg’s mission and the chance to work under Rosensweig again was too good to pass up.

“He’s been a very impactful leader to me,” Spolan said, “and I believe in what he’s doing, the vision of the company, the exec team and wanted to be a part of it.”
