Software giant Microsoft and Salesforce.com announced what they’re calling a strategic partnership to link their software and cloud environments. Under terms of the deal, Salesforce has released a new app for Windows on the PC and Windows Phone which will be available later this year. They’ll also link Salesforce’s primary customers relationship management app with Microsoft’s Office 365. Shares of Salesforce rose two percent after the deal was announced. Microsoft shares rose nearly one percent.
