T-Mobile has just announced its fifth un-carrier event, scheduled for June 18 in Los Angeles. As usual, the invite doesn’t reveal much — other than to say, “We don’t play it safe and sound.” So far, the company has eliminated service contracts, launched an early upgrade program and lowered global roaming charges. Most recently, it announced that it would pay the early termination fees for anyone switching over from AT&T, Sprint or Verizon to its service. All these moves seem to be paying off as T-Mobile reported adding 1.3 million subscribers in its first quarter.
