Today, Marvel released the second trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, its highly-anticipated superhero-comedy blockbuster:

There's a lot new here compared to the first trailer. You get a better look at Rocket, the gun-toting, tech-savvy, junk-grabbing raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper…

The basic premise is that a motley crew of outlaws, led by Starlord (a very in-shape Chris Pratt) are for some reason or another, tasked with defending the lives of 12 billion people against some unknown evil.

You barely get a glimpse at the villains — Nebula, an intergalactic master assassin; and Ronan the Accuser, an alien who wields powerful cosmic energy — because of all the focus on Chris Pratt's abs, Zoe Saldana in various states of undress, Rocket being Rocket, and Nova Prime Rael (who bears a striking resemblance to Zoolander's Mugatu), played by Glenn Close. But, hey, there's always time between now and August for another trailer.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be in theaters on August 1.
