Yahoo has acquired Blink, an ephemeral messaging service similar to Snapchat, the startup announced on Tuesday evening. As with Yahoo’s prior acquisitions, Blink will shutter its service to its iOS and Android apps as it becomes a part of the larger company. The buy is yet another in a string of small talent buys for Yahoo, which has been on an acquisition spree since ex-Googler Marissa Mayer took the role of CEO nearly two years ago. Other recent Yahoo acquisitions include Wander, Aviate and Vizify.
