Bitpay today confirmed a report that it had raised $30 million in an investment round led by Index Ventures and including participation from Founders Fund, Richard Branson, Jerry Yang’s AME Cloud Ventures and RRE Ventures. Bitpay makes software tools that help online and brick-and-mortar retailers accept bitcoin as a form of payment.
