Done Deal: Disney Finishes $500 Million Maker Studios Acquisition

Disney has closed its previously announced deal to buy Maker Studios, the company said. Disney paid $500 million for the YouTube network, and may end up spending up to $450 million more, depending on the company’s performance. Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger described Maker as “first and foremost … a successful distribution platform.”
