It’s true. Siri has been making friends.
As first reported by TechCrunch, Apple quietly acquired speech technology firm Novauris Technologies.
Apple didn’t go into detail, but confirmed that it “buys companies from time to time.” That’s Apple parlance for “Yes, we bought them, and no, we aren’t going to tell you just what we are up to.”
For the record, I asked Siri if she had bought Novauris.
“A fine question,” she said. “Now can we get back to work?”
