Turkey Lifts Twitter Ban

Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s attempt to “eradicate” Twitter has finally ended. Turkey’s Internet watchdog on Thursday began restoring access to the social media service, which has been blocked in the country since March 21. The move follows a ruling from Turkey’s Constitutional Court that found the Twitter ban to be “illegal, arbitrary and seriously restricting the right to obtain information.” Said Twitter, “We are encouraged by the news from Turkey today and welcome our Turkish users back to Twitter.”
