A Big Big Ad: Apple Taps the Pixies to Sell iPhones

It's gigantic.

Peter Kafka covers media and technology, and their intersection, at Vox. Many of his stories can be found in his Kafka on Media newsletter, and he also hosts the Recode Media podcast.

Some Apple ads you write about because they’re new Apple ads. Some Apple ads you write about because they’re awesome.

You may also spend a minute remembering the early ’90s, when it seemed unimaginable for a 4AD band to license their music to one of the biggest companies in the world, to sell a very expensive piece of consumer electronics. But whatever! That was then.

The rest of you may enjoy a trip to Wikipedia, where you can learn all about the Pixies’ Gigantic.

Oh, also! There’s this.
