Sprint Teases HD Voice Launch

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse will host a NY event on April 29.

Sprint played off Verizon Wireless’s long-running slogan, “Can you hear me now,” as it teased its own announcement in New York later this month.

Chief Executive Dan Hesse invited members of the press to “hear it for yourself” at the April 29 event in an invitation that features sound waves.

The carrier has previously discussed plans for a nationwide rollout of High Definition Voice, a technology that it says provides improved sound quality and a broader range of sound (for the musically inclined, it’s seven octaves).

Sprint has been testing the technology in markets such as Los Angeles and New York.
