Open software outfit The Mozilla Corporation has named longtime collaborator and employee Chris Beard to the company’s board of directors, it announced at VentureBeat’s mobile conference on Monday. Beard will also act as interim CEO as the corporation hunts for a replacement for Brendan Eich. Eich’s tenure was cut short earlier this month by a controversy over his political contributions to a California anti-gay marriage campaign.
