Twitter has hired Google’s Philippe Dauman Jr. as a director of commerce partnerships, according to a tweet he posted this morning, as the social network gears up to start letting brands and retailers sell products on its platform. Dauman Jr., the son of Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman, worked at Google for more than six years, most recently as business development lead for Google Wallet’s Instant Buy business. Twitter hired former TicketMaster CEO Nathan Hubbard last summer to lead its commerce initiative.
