Amazon Boosts Gaming Cred With Acquisition of Double Helix Games

Amazon has acquired Double Helix Games, a videogame developer formed in 2007 from the merger of The Collective and Shiny Entertainment, an Amazon spokeswoman confirmed. TechCrunch first reported the deal, which could fuel more speculation that Amazon is developing a gaming console, since consoles often launch with exclusive games to differentiate themselves from competitors.
