Time Warner Cable to Merge With Comcast in Deal Worth Around $45.2 billion

Deal creates largest cable operator in the U.S.

Comcast confirmed on Thursday it had reached an agreement to acquire Time Warner Cable in an all-stock transaction worth $158.82 a share.

The new company would be by far the largest cable provider in the nation with over 33 million subscribers, and is certain to face a tough review from the Federal Communications Commission.
