BlackBerry Classic Launches Today Unlocked for $449

After months of teasing, BlackBerry today officially launched its new BlackBerry Classic model. The smartphone is styled after the popular BlackBerry Bold 9900 (Kim Kardashian West’s favorite, by the way), and features a physical keyboard, trackpad and a smaller design than the Passport. The Classic also has the BlackBerry 10 OS, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, dual-core processor and eight-megapixel rear camera. While the Passport was more of a niche product, BlackBerry hopes the Classic will woo older users to upgrade and help turn around its flagging device business. BlackBerry is currently selling the phone unlocked for $449 through its website and Amazon. AT&T and Verizon have also signed on to offer the phone, but pricing and availability were not announced at this time. Stay tuned for Re/code’s full review.
