Since the Internet is where the rabid and the geeky prefer to live out their varying levels of fandom, the trailer for the next installment in the “Star Wars” saga will hit Apple’s iTunes on Friday.
Disney’s Lucasfilm today announced it would release the 88-second teaser trailer for “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” online.

Initially, the trailer was to be released in 30 theaters around the country, but fans were clamoring for all-screen access.
The Star Wars faithful got their first look at director J.J. Abrams’ production this summer, when photos leaked from the set in Abu Dhabi.
The film reunites the trio of stars from the original 1977 film, with Mark Hamill reprising his role as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa.
“The Force Awakens” is expected in theaters next year.
