Apple Releases Development Kit for Apple Watch

Apple has just announced the release of WatchKit, the set of software tools that allows developers to create applications for the Apple Watch due out next year. Third-party developers will be able to create apps and at-a-glance notifications to convey information on the watch. The smartwatch, unveiled in September, represents the company’s first foray into wearable computing — and its first major new product category since 2010.
