"FailArmy" Video Startup Jukin Media Raises $1 Million

Peter Kafka covers media and technology, and their intersection, at Vox. Many of his stories can be found in his Kafka on Media newsletter, and he also hosts the Recode Media podcast.

Jukin Media, the Web video company best known for its “FailArmy” channel on YouTube, has raised $1.2 million from investors including Bertelsmann Digital Media and Mandalay Entertainment CEO Peter Guber. Earlier this year, Jukin raised $1 million from a group that included Disney’s Maker Studios.
