Square Closes Giant Investment at $6 Billion Valuation

Square has raised a huge new round of equity financing that values Jack Dorsey’s small-business payments and software company at $6 billion. The round, which Re/code reported on in August, was led by the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. The New York Times first reported that Square had closed the investment, which it said totaled $150 million.
