Google has formally launched Google Fit, a health and fitness software application that was announced at the Google I/O developers conference earlier this year. The app, which runs on Android mobile devices and wearables, uses sensors in those devices to automatically record activities such as walking, running and biking. Like Apple’s HealthKit, Google Fit is also aiming to be a central repository for data shared to and from third-party apps like Strava, RunKeeper and Noom.
