Universal Studios is the first advertiser to pay for ad space within Snapchat. The Los Angeles-based ephemeral messaging startup ran its first ad on Saturday for U.S. users — a movie trailer for the upcoming Universal Pictures horror film “Ouija,” which comes out Friday. The video ad ran 20 seconds, and Snapchat users could choose whether or not to watch it. Snapchat announced Friday that it would run its first ad for U.S. users over the weekend, but no details about the type of ad, or the advertiser, had previously been shared.
