Former Energy Secretary Joins Amprius Board

The board appointment follows $30 million round for the battery startup.

Former Energy Secretary Steven Chu has joined the board of Amprius, a high-capacity lithium-ion battery startup. “Amprius has exciting technology and strong scientific and commercial leadership,” said Chu, a Nobel Laureate and former director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, in a statement. Earlier this month, the company raised $30 million in a Series C funding round.
