Maker Studios Hires AOL's Rene Rechtman for International Role

Web video network Maker Studios has hired hired AOL executive Rene Rechtman to run its international operations. He joined AOL three years ago when it acquired his GoViral video distribution company; most recently he had been in charge of AOL’s Be On “branded content” division. Maker, like other video networks, makes almost all of its money on YouTube but is trying to diversify its business; it says 60 percent of its views come from outside the U.S.
