Born and raised in the ski resort town of Vail, Colorado in the United States, I have toed the line between being a total "townie" and a world traveller over the past several years.

Upon graduating from college in Minnesota, I returned to Vail and embarked on a career in public relations. In 2003, I decided to try my hand at being an international ski bum and moved to Queenstown, New Zealand for a ski season. During this year abroad, I travelled in Tahiti, the Cook Islands, Fiji, New Zealand (living, working and travelling), Australia, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Panama. I then returned to work in Vail before taking an extended holiday to travel in Peru and Boliva in 2005. In 2006, I set my sights on Asia and travelled for six weeks in Malaysia (Borneo), Thailand and Myanmar. To this day, Myanmar remains one of my favorite countries and the current unrest simultaneously fills me with heartache and hope for a better future ahead.

In 2006, I returned to my PR job in Vail and skied as much as humanly possible for a guy with a "real job". In the end, the real job was proving to hinder my chronic wanderlust, so I took a job teaching English to 10-16 year old children in Daegu, South Korea. So in 2007-08, I will be calling South Korea my home but have plans to travel my way back to Vail again in the months leading up to 2009.
