I believe that food is the best guide to understanding any culture

Food has always been important to me, from earliest days. My proposition is that the poor, driven by creativity with the simplest of ingredients, have guided the food of the world.

I have visited India fairly extensively and also several countries of Europe and brief encounters with Thai, Chinese and Mexican food in its home context. I am an enthusiastic amateur, but drawn to the simple family food in any and every culture I encounter.

I will share my thoughts and look forward to input and observations from others.
