I was hacking the net back in 1974, when we didn't need to distinguish the white hats from the black, helped create the discipline of Software Usability Engineering, invented the inverse-T arrangement of arrow keys, worked in pure and applied research, software and network development and operations. I'm something of an amateur historian and philosopher and am now being drawn into the world of political activism. My hobbies include Tai Chi, genealogy, history and etymology, solar system simulation, World of Warcraft, fantasy role playing, photography and science fiction. At present my biggest concern is the erosion of Civil Liberties and the US Constitution. My blog is posted to Vox, LiveJournal, BlogSpot, MySpace and the Daily Kos.
