I am a writer and the mother of three sturdy children. The girls, Criminy and Felony, are twelve. Their brother, Jinx, is nine. Their father, Duff, and I split up in the summer of 2006, yet we still spend time together, which makes for a confusing and sometimes painful situation (for me anyway). We live about 30 miles north of San Francisco. As of February 2008, I am renting an old, high-ceilinged flat near the water, behind a boatyard, in a small town I call Karkin. In October 2007, I started working part-time as a reading and writing tutor at a local community college. I also homeschool my son.

I am an optimistic person for the most part, but I have also lived with depression, especially in the past few years. Lately, however, I feel pretty good. I only mention it in case you happen to be depressed yourself. When you are depressed, it can feel as if life will never get better. But for the vast majority of us, it will. One thing that helps me, when I've fallen down an emotional well and feel as if I'll never get out alive, is remembering the statistical reality. I can't trust my feelings, but I can trust my intellect, which tells me things will improve. And eventually, they do improve.

Writing is my grand passion and I always have a secret project or two underway. I want to publish a book, soon. Your encouragement is much appreciated. My VOX tends to be about my personal life and my kids.
