so the BIG news of this week is that britney finally dropped her new single womanizer!!!!!!! shall we have a listen??

not to be negative but this song def reminds me of radar from off her last album black out. it's catchy though and it definitley grew on me from the first time i listened to it. i give it a total all around grade of B-.

frankly, i'm just grateful that britney is healthy enough to go back into the studio and work her musical magic. i think if britney continues on this upward spiral then i may have to discontinue this series of posts. i started off writing these to combat all the negativity that brit-brit receives. ever since her father came back into her life and she kicked that sleazebag manager to the curb, i have seen mostly good news about her. let me just say, for the record, that if britney makes good on her promise to tour in 2009 then i will retire my weekly britney posts. by embarking on a tour, that means (to me) that she's officially back and on top where she belongs!

in other good news, britney stopped by the John Philip Sousa M. S. 142 in The Bronx this past wednesday to give a check for $10,000 to be used for the school's music program. she actually presented the check on behalf of elizabeth arden (meaning she didn't give them $10,000 out of her own pocket...but the thought still counts!) read more about her visit below!

As she entered the school (which was not in session due to the Jewish holiday), she was treated to a performance by the Sousatones, the school's eight-piece band, led by director Sal Mazzola.

"When you're ready to take us on the road for an opening act, we're ready," he told Spears.

Spears, who plans to tour in 2009, replied: "You'll be the first people I call."

Mazzola told the students in advance they would be playing for a "high-profile" guest, but they only learned it would be Spears earlier that morning. (Some kids guessed it would be P. Diddy or Barack Obama.)

Spears was also serenaded by a chorus of seven girls, including soloist Rachel Lewis, 14, who sang "I Am Woman."

The donation came from Elizabeth Arden, which is behind Spears's fragrances, Believe, Fantasy and Curious.

"I really enjoyed the time I spent at the John Philip Sousa Middle School," Spears tells PEOPLE. "I've been working with the people at Elizabeth Arden for the last five years, and I know how passionate everyone is about the school. I loved hearing the school orchestra and the children sang so beautifully. The fact that Elizabeth Arden made such a large donation for the school music studio in my name was so generous."

how lucky are those kids??? i mean, i guess they aren't THAT lucky since their music program is only a year old...which is kind of ironic considering that their school is named for one of the most famous music composers from america. but anyways, it still must have been awesome to meet britney! it's always nice to see britney reaching out and trying to do some good. bravo brit brit!

Weezer's Hootenanny Tour

Get out your guitars... It's Weezer's Hootenanny Tour! Weezer and Live 105 are getting together to bring some worthy musicians onstage to play with Weezer at the San Jose Event Center on Monday, October 13th. The contest states that you need to submit a video playing a Weezer song with an acoustic instrument (sorry, no drum sets). Here's an instructional video from Weezer teaching you how to play some of their songs.
I had so much fun playing at their last Hootenanny. I highly recommend that people audition, even if you are a novice. In spite of recently starting to learn how to play the guitar, I decided to enter their last contest...and I ended up playing with Weezer.

mountains out of molehills

turns out his phone died. hence why i hadn't heard from him all afternoon on sunday and all day monday. when he's out on the highway in the middle of nowhere and i don't hear from him, i begin to get concerned.

tuesday i received a record 3 e-mails and 2 voice mails and 2 phone calls. proof positive that he does miss me and that the probability of him having a tour lover is less than zero (not that i really thought he did, but you know...). when your drunk best friend makes it a point to tell you that it's impossible to be in a relationship with someone in a band, you begin to get a bit of a complex...that, and i have an over-active imagination. i know i mentioned it before but, her boyfriend left her for another girl he met on tour so she's a little bitter and my imagination turns everything he says or doesn't say into a sign that he's found someone else.

5 days down, 11 to go. almost half way through.

in other news...

work sucks and i've been applying elsewhere. we'll see where this takes me. people are miserable and rude here and i feel like it's rubbing off on me.

i have yoga tonight, which i'm looking forward to.

At the last minute, Hitomi and I got into this tour. We did this tour last year and were attacked by goat heads. This year I had my singlespeed with its sturdy Continental Contact tires and a little more sense to stay far away from the shoulder lane, so I had no flats. Neither did Hitomi. And as an experiment, I ran "fixed" the first day. It was fun, but given the amount of decent, I did come down with Severe Ass Trauma (SAT), making Sunday's 65 mile return difficult.

There was a lot less wine drinking and buying this year, in fact we bought just a few bottles. We still have some from last year.

The tour coincided with a balloon "rally" in Prosser, hence the picture of a balloon.

breakdown

i just had some kind of heartache breakdown. due to the fact that matt is around people all the time out on tour, he'll send me e-mails or voice mails that seem really impersonal. he can't very well be all gushy when his friends are around and when they'll most certainly make fun of him.

i'm having a bad day and i had just read one of his e-mails and it sounded (unintentionally) cold. all of a sudden i just got upset because of how my day's going, because i haven't been handling this all that well and because i'm not getting the same warmth in his tone. so i left him a ridiculous voice mail about how i just wanted to hear his voice and how i really needed him just now. i started welling up when i was leaving the message and my voice started quivering so i cut the message short.

i'm trying to be tough about him being gone but i'm not doing that well. it's only the 4th day...12 more to go.

my best friend's boyfriend came back from being on tour with his band with a new girlfriend. i'm 95% confidant that isn't the case here, but that impersonal tone brings out that 5% even though i know the reasoning behind it.

ugh. this sucks so bad.

16 days alone

on the 26th, matt leaves for a 2 week tour with his band on the east coast (those of you on the east coast that like indie/shoegaze music, i have an itinerary if you'd be interested in catching a good milwaukee band).

*it really sucks.

we've never been apart this long and it's going to be really bizarre to go to sleep and wake up in an empty apartment for 2 weeks and 2 days. i'm going to make the best of my time alone though. there's a bunch of cleaning that needs to be done, some working out at the gym that can be had and i've made some plans for the weekends already that could prove to be pretty fun. i have a hair appointment and my mom and i are doing a walk to benefit lung cancer. i'm hoping to start (and will most likely finish) another sewing project and i have some books that i've been meaning to finish.

it's the saying goodbye (or see you later, as it were) that will really suck...on top of that, he's stopping by my office to say bye at the last possible moment before they leave. how am i supposed to go back to work after that??

part of me is excited to have some time alone, the other half of me hasn't been away from him for more than a week in over 2 years and is dreading the sense of loneliness that i'm bound to feel. he's left overnight a few times when they play in minneapolis or chicago and when i lay down to go to sleep, i hear every weird noise and every crick in the apartment...i have an active imagination so immediately i think that someone's going to break in the apartment and kidnap me.

it's ridiculous, i know. i live in a good neighborhood.

i think i'm going to try to get up early every day and practice yoga. it always sounds like a good idea, but that means the alarm is going off at 5:30...hmm...maybe i'll need to think about that a little bit longer. on the other hand, i will have no one to cuddle up with in the morning that would keep me in bed.

i'm going to miss him like crazy.

Paris, France

Bonjour, here I am in Paris! Envy? Second trip for me and this time round I'm not going to regret like the last trip which I only visited the Eiffel Tower as it was cold and wet then. This time round, weather was prefect for walking, cool temperature, cloudy sky. Walked for 20km this time round within 4 hrs!@! My legs almost give up before I can reach back hotel but I'm glad I did all the walking cause really seen alot of the tourist attraction. But of course I skip all detail walk of the monument just plainly taking pixs, ya I'm here...here and here... See pix on left (authorized only), I'm here in front of Arc de Triomphe. Lucky enough to see 2 ceremony twice my trips there.

Pictures looks nice in blogs, don't they? I mean, a little spice to our boring-ass bloging that we have going. Well I think so... so imma try and add a picture every now and then when I post up a new blog about nothingness.

Coca-Cola is Coca-Cola everywhere, true that - true that. I went off base for a little bit today. Eh, today was long. Maybe if we could have been out and about doing whatever we wanted then it would have been better, but nooo we had to follow this boring ass schedule. I wanted to do some more looking around. Next time, fo sho!

Went to this shop, turns out they have postcards with a character named "Condom Man"? Are you serious. Haha, actually it's pretty funny, but come on!

SnakesInAJar

Oh, dead snakes up in some jars filled with liquid that people actually drink. Expensive son-of-a-bitches, but it's there if you're feeling like you need to spend 250+ dollars. I'm pretty sure this had something to do with liquor.

I couldn't understand much, so I didn't know what was what. I did notice that they call their restrooms "toilets". Hmm. Oh, and also... with their crosswalks, everybody stops and the pedestrians crosswalk is in the middle of the road. They also have voices telling you when to cross and stuff. High-tech here.

OHHH, went to McDonalds today. Turns out these skinny people have the option to get a Big Mac or a Mega Big Mac. Of course, I got my Kids Meal cheeseburger with no meat and the lady looked at me weird, but the meat I did see in the hamburgers looked all light. Not as dark as back in the States. IDK, if it kills you it kills you. Nothing I gotta worry about there. Whatevez.

4 more days of this FTAC bullshit. Then... then I could give them all the finger, gradaute, and get on to what I'm really here for.

PS - I can take pilot lessons here! It will set me back 7,000 bucks though, but but but I'll be certified a pilot. I'm thinking about that. I don't know yet.

NEW FOUND GLORY show tonight was awesome. even though they didn't play a couple of jams I wanted to hear. One of course being "story so far." All in all it was a good as I expected. Not a doubt way better than the PARAMORE show. It was a bummer that CRIME IN STEREO couldn't make it, I was really looking forward to seeing them but hey vans will always blow up.

Don't expect me to show you and pictures, all I got is my memories.
(hey that is a quotable line right there. kinda deep don't ya think?)

I just read on Bonophile's Vox that U2 are getting ready to play Croke Park! Oh my!

When the news broke that their album was pushed to 2009 I knew the tour would follow but I don't think the excitement hit until just now!

I am reading the AtU2 story here and it sounds like some of the information could be accurate right?!

I am going to keep my fingers crossed that they will be playing at the new Wembley Stadium! Ooooooooooh!

India Travel: Tiger Safari

Traveling to India means visiting destinations for sightseeing and historic monuments like the Taj Mahal at Agra which is now amongst the wonders of the World.

India Travel also means relishing Indian food and experiencing Indian cuisine, diversity and yes Indian wildlife which is best summed up by a tiger sighting. Hence almost all of the travelers visiting India are requesting their Indian tour agents to book or make advance reservation at Indian National Parks like Kanha for a tiger safari to see tigers and Indian wildlife.

The wildlife resorts are the best places to stay at Kanha, Bandhvagarh and Pench Tiger Reserves in Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. These resorts are well equipped for tiger tourism apart from providing lodging and boarding.

The tiger safari in tiger reserves are basically trekking tigers on a jeep as foot treeking is not allowed in the core zones of the wildlife parks. Another method of sighting a tiger is on an elephant ride in the park which is usually of short duration. Such elephant rides are known as tiger shows and are agood way of having a glimpse of the tiger and photograhping tigers in the wild jungles.

However tiger sightings require a little bit of luck as well, as it is a secretive animal...expert trekkers as park and nature guides can make your trip a success. Enjoying all elements of tiger reserves are a must as they deliver a holistic experience.

Naturalists can enhance your experience in animal watching and birding and understanding of the flora and lesser fauna of these magnificent wildlife preserves. The number of visitors is restricted now and it is well advisable to make advance booking for the hotels in Indian national parks and the gate entry permission. The entry into the park is chargeable and it has to be paid while booking your tour now. The hotel owners can make the booking for you for park entries on your tiger tours.

Visiting a tiger reserve on India tour is as rewarding expereince as visiting the Taj Mahal for the tiger is no less a wonder of the World.

Tour of Dreamworks in Redwood City CA

I enjoyed my tour of Dreamworks PDI. Upon arriving at the reception desk, not only were we asked to sign in and wear a visitor's badge, we were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Keeping secrets is part of my living as a full time magician, so that shouldn't be much of a problem. We were told that we could take pictures but could not post pictures of the real Oscar's award featured in the front lobby. As we toured the four floors we were surrounded by creativity and many movie story boards and larger than life posters. After the tour we headed off to our free lunch. The lunch was quite generous similar to the lunches I was accustomed to working at Paypal. I especially enjoyed the egg salad. My friend arranged for us to meet with the HR director and I entertained her and few of the execs with a quick close-up show. Not only did I get a tour, I'm looking forward to entertaining at their upcoming holiday party! I'm looking forward to watching the next Dreamworks picture, Madagasgar 2 come out. We'll also be looking for Patrick Ku in the credits. Thanks Patrick.

I've put in request to two clients who work at Industrial Light and Magic, and Pixar for a tour and am looking forward to visiting more of my clients at work.
