Loving the full moon!!!

I'm getting my running groove back on - maybe all I needed was the adrenaline rush of my 50 to push me back over the edge - or maybe, I just needed to really get over Mr. Lawyer and freshman in college binge drinking to realize how much I missed it. With the help of my best girlfriends, T and B, I'm back on. I'm in full swing. So last night, I ran with Santa under the full moon. He did really well considering he's not a runner. I took him on my treachorously dark trail run under the beautiful full moon...stomping around in sand, gravel, grass, road, twigs, and whatever else in pitch black for about 6 miles. He was a total trooper and it was a lot of fun. When we got back, we were starving and ran to the grocery store for some veggies, cooked some food, and then showered and basically passed out. The funniest thing about last night was that he said goodnight to me and then, "hey, please let me know when you're sick of me. Like if I'm hanging out too much, just tell me. I am not good at doing many things in moderation." I tried not to but ended up bursting out laughing. Haha! Oops!

Anyway, I had a really GREAT night of sleep last night - literally was out by 10:30 - which was perfect considering I was getting up around 5:15 to meet my friend S and run another 6 or so miles under the full moon! Hooray! I'm a little tired today but feel great. My body and mind feel clear again...

Tomorrow, the big bday crazy weekend begins! I so CANNOT wait!!! :)

Yes, I said wowzers. And yes, its super lame. But, I'm floored. Not only does Santa like to talk to me all day long over IM while we're at work, when I was out for about 3 hours or so today at the dentist and running errands, he called because he was missing me. Jesus. Really? I'm not used to guys being so forward about things.

Kind of cute but also kind of hard for me to keep being single....

Cater to me

Its so funny being semi-single. Its sort of the best of both worlds except that you know it can't last forever. You have one guy that you talk to, you know wants to be with you, would do anything for you, yet you haven't yet committed to him so you feel free to date and see as many other people as you want. For instance, Santa and I have been seeing a lot of one another and we talk pretty much every day but he's not my boyfriend. I still talk to and go out with other guys. We've never had the talk and I am almost dreading the day it comes up as I'm not sure I'm ready for anymore than what we are right now.

I'm still having fun doing what I'm doing. Last night, for example, The Caterer took me to dinner. He owed me dinner since I hooked him up with a sweet job. We went to Cafe Maritime on Lombard - which is crazily close to my house - and pretty impressive given its weird location and almost weirder invisibleness. The Caterer is cute - dark hair and eyes - cooks, dresses well, intelligent, and nice - but I knew that nothing more would come of it but dinner and possibly friendship. First of all, for me, he comes off a little gay - he was dressed better than me and ordered a "white out" as his first drink which was basically a cosmo with lime juice. Haha. Second, he is nervous and had this weird habit of turning 180 degrees in his chair and looking in the other direction like he was trying to avoid eye contact. I didn't find it offensive, just funny since I could tell it was out of nerves rather than him trying to be rude. Anyway, dinner was nice - crab cake, ahi tuna, and then bread pudding (not my favorite but I'm not big on dessert anyway) - oh, and of course (for me at least) a few glasses of wine. After dinner, we parted ways - quick hug goodbye - and I called Santa.

Santa came over kind of late night. We spent the first few hours talking and cuddling. He is always so tender with me - like rubbing my back, kissing me on the cheek, and holding me. There aren't very many men (or at least I haven't met many) who will be that attentive to you so its really nice. Anyway, after awhile we started fooling around. It was nice - he is amazing at getting me off. I pretty much always start to lose control. However, the sex was a little weird last night. I'm not sure if its because I was SUPER tired or what, but it was odd. I can't put my finger on exactly what it was. I wish I could.

Anyway, I'm not sure how long I can continue to have my cake and eat it too. For now, I'll just enjoy the ride....:)

Santa Clause is coming....

A lot has been going on. Between travel for work, my social life, dates, parties, and races - I haven't had a ton of time. Its been an interesting couple of months.

After that night at Medjool, some time ago, Santa (Christmas' new name for blog purposes) and I have been talking pretty regularly. He's so nice to me, its almost unbelievable. We've hung out a few times, he's even brought me lunch to work...like literally picked it up, and rode his bike over just to eat with me. No one has ever been that nice to me ever. Anyway, I started off the month of October in NYC on a media tour with a client. I took a red eye on Sunday night after spending the weekend with my whole entire family - and I mean WHOLE family - so I was pooped when I arrived. Because it was only 6 am ET when I got in, I had asked The Short Rich Dude if he would still be in NYC (he was on business too) and whether he would mind if I came by showered, etc early in the morning - he said, no prob and left me a key as he would already be gone on his way to CT for meetings that day. After a quick nap/shower, I set out on the town - tried to see some morning shows and then lunch with an editor for Cosmo - the Hearst building is extremely awesome by the way...apparently the greenest building in NYC...another one is currently trying to compete. When I finally get to my own hotel, The Hudson, which is entirely awesome, by the way, I'm exhausted and ready to plop down in my bed..before I can do so, I notice this huge, fresh bouquet of flowers (lilies, my fave, to be exact) sitting on the nightstand and think how strange for a hotel to do that. Then I look and see there's a card...and they're from Santa. He sent me flowers to my room in NYC. No one ever sends me flowers much less like that. I was so surprised and giddy for the rest of the night. Anyway, after that I couldn't stop thinking about him - couldn't stop thinking of how nice that is, how cute he is, and how fun it would be once I got home. Oh, and I forgot to mention that he also drove me to the airport....

Anyway, once I returned from my NYC adventure it was race time. Again, Santa was being an angel. He volunteered to come out and crew me all day - drive to Castro Valley, stay in the hotel and spend the rest of the day driving around wtih B from aid station to aid station to support me. Once we were in CV, he was really sweet - took both B and I to dinner, made sure I was comfortable and snuggled with me while I slept. Totally cute. He woke up with me in the morning eventhough I had told him to SLEEP. I left an hour later and saw him and B's smiling faces at mile 20 something...I was stoked to see them. He was so sweet - trying to help me, get me what I needed, saying encouraging things. So sweet, I can't even describe. At around mile 40 something, he literally took off my shoe and sock and doctored up my blister. My feet were horrendous, like hobbit style but there he was helping me out. I've never had anyone treat me quite like that. At the finish line, he was the first one next to me, helping me out of my shoes, wiping my dirty ass face off, and basically just being awesome.

We spent the rest of the weekend together and (finally) on Sunday night, we slept together and it was GREAT, no fantastic. He was a total gentleman. He was sweet. He took his time. He was attentive.

Now, I'm thrown. I'm not sure I'm ready for anyone/anything serious. But, I'm not sure I'd want to throw him away either. I'm still dating others. Still having fun. But, what do you do when you have it this great?

Should I Sleep With Him On The First Date?

Well, it's really up to you....If you want a long term relationship with the guy, then maybe you should wait until the 3rd date....If you don't really care to have a long term relationship with the guy and he's good enough for just a roll in the hay, then of course, you're an adult! If you want to, than do it! Have a hot one night stand....but remember, there could be consequences if you do choose to do so.

Honestly girls, most guys aren't going to wait around if you're past your 3rd date and still haven't put out yet. I mean, they might take you on more dates, and they might even really like you! But, they're gonna find someone else to sleep with on the side if you're not putting out. Hey, I've talked to plenty of men about this and this is what they tell me. Maybe you'll get lucky, and the guy will be a one of a kind and put up with your morals and values as a woman and actually wait until you're married.....uh huh. You just keep thinking that k....OK, bye bye now!

Seriously though...most men think with their other brain a majority of the time when it comes to women and they love to release. So whether it be with you or with the other little hottie over there, it's all up to you in the end. Remember, even if a man is married, if he's not getting it from his wife, he's gonna find it somewhere else. He might not actively look for it, but if temptation finds him, he's more than likely going to go with temptation.

My motto is; always treat your body like a temple. If he's not good enough to come to the alter, then why would you let him in the church doors?

Today will be a WHIRLWIND and it's not even directly because Oil Prices are back up to $84.00 a barrell (why didn't I stock up and get several into my garage?) and the stock market rally of October 13, 2008.

It's because I have sales meetings today and am packing and preparing to attending Motivational Speaker, Business, Education, Success Kevin Hogan's Wealth Creation C.A.M.P. on the Science of Affluence.

I'm rooming with others.

Now, one of the differences in any kind of a relationship is Being An Adult.

I'm very clear I am the Yin energy in my romantic relationships, or they don't last long. But that doesn't mean I expect to be a pampered princess in life, well, at least not ALL the time. Only at the Nail Salons.... (Spa chair, please!)

Since I have been to Kevin's seminars before, I just already KNOW the logistics and what to expect in a general way about LOGISTICS (not the content other than, naturally, it will be superb, cutting edge, and practical! I will be able to implement it there with LOADS of take aways to continue to implement in my life). So, I'm acting as the gracious hostess for some newbies. There are just all these logistical THINGS to deal with. Sonya hurt her back. Had reg'd MONTHS ago and can't attend.

She'd reserved the room.

THe other roomies had sent her a check.

She is sending me a check.

I have to phone and email her to mail sure I have all the information... and the funds.

Oh, and now the split is different.

And they have HER cell number.

But she won't be there.

Logistics.

Once past Romantic Relationship PHase One: Chemistry/Attraction (I talk about this a lot more in depth in my ebook, Trisha was asking about that, and my blog has a different focus than what I have already published elsewhere.) then we are truly communicating. Once we are an adult, we have responsibility to uphold even in Phase One.

Mutual surging hormones means whenever you DO consummate things and have sex, yes, DO PLAY SAFE. You're thinking I don't even need to say this in the 21st century, but that would NOT be true. Indeed, we are predictably irrational and once aroused, we can DO stupid things even when it comes around to having unsafe and unprotected sex. So with my clients, I coach them to be sure to cross legs until things have been negotiated AND to keep condoms where you DO want to use them.

THe over 50s Baby Boomer singles are the fastest growing segment of the population who is contracting AIDS. Because they are probably thinking... no chance of getting pregnant. We're good. No, you're not.

MUST run. Meeting soon. Packing later.

It Is Rather Unfair, Really

The clothes that women wear give anyone looking a pretty good idea of what her body looks like, i.e., boob size, curve of the waist, booty. This means men get pretty darned good visual information on what women might look like naked. He then can fantasize what it would be like to have sex with her. But the opposite isn't so true. Us women have no idea of men's packages. We just have to wait to be surprised when it is, well, too late.

Oldest Virgin in the World

A woman who is celebrating her 105th birthday is attributing her long life to remaining celibate. Clara Meadmore, a resident at Perran Bay nursing home in Truro, Cornwall, only moved in to care in January.

The retired secretary said sex meant marriage when she was young and she never wanted to marry. "I have just never been interested in sex. I imagine there is a lot of hassle involved and I have always been busy doing other things."

Miss Meadmore was born in Glasgow in 1903, two years after Queen Victoria died, and she remembers the Titanic sinking and the outbreak of WWI. Her family travelled and she lived in Canada and New Zealand before moving back to Britain in her 20s where she worked as a housekeeper and secretary.

After serving in the army in Egypt during WWII, she lived between London and New Zealand before retiring to Cornwall 40 years ago. She will celebrate her 105th birthday on Saturday by reading a card from the Queen and having a "drop" of wine, she said.

Gandhi gave up sex at 37 - not many people know that. He had married
at 14 (or perhaps younger), as was customary in India at the time,
and had been troubled by his obsession with sex. Being the pious
person he was, or aspired to be, he could not square his ceaseless
desire for marital sex with its intrusion on his relationship with
his wife. Gandhi had never had an easy relationship with his wife,
and she had complained of his roughness and brusqueness. By the time
he was 37, his wish to become celibate stuck, finally.

My preoccupation with sex since my teenage years staggers me. I know
I am no different to most young men, but this obsessive, recurrent
desire to have sex with as many beautiful women as I can see, get my
hands on, buy, download, or imagine is remarkable. It does not abate.
My tastes have changed and what once I may have dismissed without a
moment's thought, I can now lust after, but the constant, the living
constant, is the desire. It may be more restrained, but it is
current.

Yesterday I was with a guy about twenty eight years of age. As ever, our
conversation veered to women. He has demands, standards, expectations
of his future woman. She may not be fat, or short, or ugly. She has
to be beautiful, slim, and young. She has to have lustrous eyes,
wonderful hair, and exquisite skin. She has to be desired by other
men. She has to find him thrilling, to love him, and to do so at
first sight. I could see the parallels with the previous night.

The night before, I was with a friend who is engaged. He has known
his fiance for eight years. They broke off a couple of years after
they first met but kept the bond going until they committed to each
other again two years ago. We sat gobbling deliciously spicy Indian
food, until he gobsmacked me and told me he met this wonderful, 26
year old gorgeous Polish girl with the deepest blue eyes and a
perfect body. They went out a few times behind his fiance's back, ...
Then the fiance found out.

His voice, when speaking about the Polish femme fatale, told the
whole story: she was a nine, or a ten, beautiful even without makeup,
animalistically sexy in a pair of jeans (no one wears a pair of jeans
like her), and when he took her out to the pub, he could not leave
her alone, because every semi-drunk lad was hitting on her. All the
guys were looking at him: "what on earth does she find in him"? But
what he found most endearing about her was that she thought she was
"just average".

A few weeks ago, he had sat in a pub on a sunny Saturday afternoon
having a drink with the woman he waited all his life for and thought
"this is the life: the love of my life is at home safe and sound, the
hottest woman I have ever pulled is reading the papers across from
me, I got my BMW parked outside, and the weather is gorgeous." The
roof crashed a few days later. (Interestingly, the femme fatale knew
about his status right from the start, and now she awaits patiently
while he sorts out his mess - knowing that his first priority is to
mend things with his fiance!)

It all seems such a waste: this excess of hormones that is driving
us, otherwise smart men, nuts. It causes us to veer off course, it
pulls us away from the real priorities, and it soaks up a lot of our
time. More importantly, my guess is that 90% of the men you meet are
walking around nursing wounded prides. We all know that my 28 year
old friend will "mature" one day and accept that he is not a
millionaire, nor an amazingly charming man; he will become grateful
for the attention of a somewhat attractive young woman, not the
perfect 10 that he wants, and marry her.

My other friend, well, he will probably end up losing both women. And
when he ends up with a third woman, his evaluation criteria will have
similarly mellowed. He will look back to the "golden days" when he
was able to pull the 'femme Pole' and think "Ah, those were the days.
Oh well, at least I got a shot at sitting at the top table."

The hormones are driving us crazy trying to seek out potential
reproductive mates. But to be fair to the DNA program that these
hormones are on, nature just wants us to have a mate, it is not picky
about which. The hormones do not tell us "she's gotta be a killer".
We do.

Why do we do that?

Well, by the time we are 13, we are already well-educated. The
topless shots, the nude mags, the porn sites, they do a great job of
telling us what perfection should look like - and to each his tastes.
You may like busty brunettes, I may like barefoot blondes. You may
like Asian, I may like Black. For heavens' sake, by the time you are
14, you already know you have a thing for perky nipples on large
areolas - but not that you will remain single for the next ten years
because of that!

Of course, the hormones are on a weird DNA program. Even when you get
the woman of your dreams, even when you have just 'banged' that
trophy blue-eyed blonde, your hormones instruct you to look at
another woman - a different 'genre' to the one you're with. You're
suddenly craving that wavy-haired, dark-skinned, voluptuous knock-out
shaking her hips in perfect harmony to the latest hypnotic RnB
rhythms.

The funniest part of the story is that I am actually bad at the
activity this whole vortex of energy is about: s e x. I would be
happy if all the hours upon hours that I wasted of my life so far,
had turned me into a living Casanova: a guy women travel from other
continents to be 'healed' by. But all this time and psychic energy
for very little real practice?!

Nature really is being nasty.

Resolution?

Do a Gandhi!

Coloring

In a few hours I will be on the road headed back to DC.

The "vacation" is over.

The clothes are packed. Toiletries and a few grocery items still linger about. I should be in bed, since I have to help my mother drive part of the 8 hour trek home. Yet I can't sleep.

For a while I heard the upstairs vacationing neighbors. I'm not sure all of whom or what is in the upstairs villa, just that they have been a bit noisy in their movements. I didn't notice their existence until well into the week, when I heard foot traffic through the ceiling. Then tonight, in the comfort of my bedroom I heard a faint squeaking sound. My heart almost stopped thinking it was someone in my villa with a sing-song bed. Then I listened closely and the sound was coming from the ceiling. A rhythm. Indeed someone upstairs was "coloring;" if you saw the movie for Sex and the City you know what "coloring" is code for.

For a minute I wasn't sure what to think. A smirk came on my face, then this annoyance because I need to be sleeping to prep for this drive in a few hours. Then I got kinda jealous. I want to color. Yet coloring is freaking me out lately.

It's not about the quantity of coloring I do. It's more so the why? Somehow I feel like my past is creeping up on me. Before it was something like a band-aid; something to patch up my hurt or my wounds from life. Sometimes I wonder if I still see it in the same light. When things go bad.. go color, even though I want to believe deep down it's totally not the case.

It must be something different now, because nowadays when something hits me hard or at all I don't go out looking to color. I just sit still, bite my nails, think and analyze and if need be.. execute via something else and not color.

I guess I have grown.

Maybe my itch is set off by something else and not necessarily in thinking about the past or listening to the folks upstairs. I have a feeling I know what it is. That requires deep, personal introspection. Something that my heart has been in denial about, but may have to come clean sooner or later.

Seems like only my heart knows for sure, but I'm not trying to listen either way.

Don't want to.

I can't deal.

So I'll just bite whatever nails I have left until I can come up with a better solution.

Confidence.....

When you first walk into that room hold your head high and walk with confidence! Look every man and woman in the eye and smile at them, what ever your sex.

Don't shy off into a corner and become invisible. Hey, you just walked in with confidence and he, or she, is your date for the night. If you get lucky, it's gonna be a threesome because confidence better go into that bedroom right along with you.

If you're at a bar, order a drink with confidence! Know what you want before you go into that bar. Not only will the bartender be impressed, but so will confidence. Just ordering that drink and sounding like you know it, will impress the hell out of a bartender and yourself! Trust me. Maybe that bartender is your lucky #, maybe not. But I guarantee he, or she, will remember what you are drinking next time you order, or the next time, if you're lucky, someone order's a drink for you!

Where ever you are, always go with confidence. Confidence is your new best friend, hell, it's your bitch! You make it stay with you where ever you go in life and you'll get far!!

Face It....CONFIDENCE IS SEXY!!!!!!!
