This year's Cost of Government fell four days later then last year's and a shocking sixteen days later then in the year 2000. This is just one more arrow pointing toward huge government spending that the United State's President has resided over.

History in the Making

I feel really bad about celebrity hysteria. People of a certain job are stalked because of their ability to be related to. I'm fascinated by everything relating to humanity, the inner mind is my playground and I'm a kid with a treasure map. So all this stuff is like candy to my sugar induced coma. Oh so sweet but sucks major ass.

But then I started thinking about BBC America. My friend Terra and I watch BBC America World News because it gives a lot of information about the world verses our daily local news which doesn't have British voices and talks about local cats and such. So Terra also loves history, I don't dig it. I like humans of the now, but whatever. But lots of our friends adore history as well. So why aren't they interested in the history of today. The kinda that is before their very eyes. Who cares who's voted president in '08, the next generation that has to put up with the shit they put out. Not that I even know who I'm voting for. (BTW the movie swing vote, makes no sense).

106 wolves killed in 118 days. Bush continues adding to his legacy as "Worst President Ever"

106 wolves were killed in a period of just 118 days.

That's nearly one wolf killed every day. And if Wyoming, Idaho and Montana have their way, at least 900 wolves -- nearly 60 percent of the population -- could be exterminated this fall, when a massive public hunt begins.

Make no mistake: This will be the very last summer for many of Yellowstone's wolves -- unless immediate action is taken to stop the killing.

That is why I am urging you to sign the NRDC Petition to the Interior Department demanding that it restore protection for wolves now.

Tourists visiting Yellowstone have been horrified to learn that the very wolves they've traveled hundreds and thousands of miles to see are being gunned down just outside the park. Hundreds of tourists a day are signing petitions to protest the slaughter.

And as I write, our partner organization Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is circulating those Petitions in the park AND taking court action -- along with 11 other conservation groups -- to compel the Bush Administration to restore protection for the wolves.

What can you do to help the wolves of the Northern Rockies from where you live?

Your activism will help us broadcast the wolf's plight and mobilize America against the Bush Administration's heartless, wolf-killing policy.

Bush claims executive privilege on CIA leak

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush has asserted executive privilege to prevent Attorney General Michael Mukasey from having to comply with a House panel subpoena for material on the leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity.

A House committee chairman, meanwhile, held off on a contempt citation of Mukasey — who had requested the privilege claim — but only as a courtesy to lawmakers not present.

Rep. Henry Waxman, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, rejected Mukasey's suggestion that Vice President Dick Cheney's FBI interview on the CIA leak should be protected by the privilege claim — and therefore not turned over to the panel.

"We'll act in the reasonable and appropriate period of time," Waxman, D-Calif., said. But he made clear that he thinks Mukasey has earned a contempt citation and that he'd schedule a vote on the matter soon.

"This unfounded assertion of executive privilege does not protect a principle; it protects a person," Waxman said. "If the vice president did nothing wrong, what is there to hide?"

The assertion of the privilege is not about hiding anything but rather protecting the separation of powers as well as the integrity of future Justice Department investigations of the White House, Mukasey wrote to Bush in a letter dated Tuesday. Several of the subpoenaed reports, he wrote, summarize conversations between Bush and advisers — are direct presidential communications protected by the privilege.

"I am greatly concerned about the chilling effect that compliance with the committee's subpoena would have on future White House deliberations and White House cooperation with future Justice Department investigations," Mukasey wrote to Bush. "I believe it is legally permissible for you to assert executive privilege with respect to the subpoenaed documents, and I respectfully request that you do so."

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said Bush invoked the privilege on Tuesday...

Scooter Libby told the FBI in 2003 that it was possible that Cheney ordered him to reveal Plame's identity to reporters...

Where Should that Doggie Come From? Cast Your Vote!

Benjamin Franklin said nothing is certain except death and taxes. If he were alive during a modern presidential election season, he could add polling to that list. Not that the polls themselves are certain in the accuracy of their predictions, but that we can be certain to be deluged with poll after poll over the next four months examining every aspect of the race.

Now, some of these pollsters have even surveyed people with pets. A new AP-Yahoo News surveyindicates that pet owners favor John McCain over Barack Obama 42 percent to 37 percent, with dog owners particularly in McCain’s corner. It may be because more pet owners are found in demographic groups that skew toward McCain—more whites have pets than African-Americans, and more married couples have pets than single people. Or it may be because the McCains have 24 of their own critters, including four dogs, and the Obamas don’t currently have any pets.

Barack and Michelle Obama plan to change that after the election, win or lose, and have promised their daughters, Malia and Sasha, they can get a dog. So now we have a poll from the American Kennel Club asking readers to help choose a type of dog for the Obama family. The public can select from five breeds—the bichon frise, Chinese crested, miniature schnauzer, poodle, and soft-coated wheaten terrier—and the contest is open until August 19.

But animal advocates know the choice is not that simple. As Wayne Pacelle wrote, the more important question is where the dog comes from. Dogs purchased from pet stores and over the Internet come from factory-style puppy mills, where breeding adult dogs live their entire lives in filthy, wire cages. They are treated like a cash crop and receive no socialization or human interaction, making them sick, diseased and crazed with loneliness. Wonderful dogs in need of loving homes can be found at animal shelters and rescue groups—whether they are mutts or pure-bred.

Nearly every president in recent times has had pets, and I’ve written about themhere and here. Our nation’s leader can set an example as a responsible caregiver, when it comes to spaying and neutering, veterinary care, adoption, and related issues. But candidates can set a positive example as well, and can advocate for the rescue of animals in need of homes rather than adding to the problem of unwanted dogs and cats euthanized in our shelters. Barack Obama, for example, appears in a new book by Jana Kohl, “A Rare Breed of Love,” lending his voice to the fight to stop puppy mills.

So the Humane Society Legislative Fund has created our own poll. We want you to weigh in on where the Obamas should get their dog after the election—from an animal shelter, a breed rescue group, a pet store, a small breeder, or an Internet seller—and we will forward the results of our survey to the Obama campaign. WHAT IS CHOOSING OBAMA SAYING ABOUT AMERICA?

As we near election, we are listening to two primary candidates, John McCain and Barrack Obama. I am sure I am not the only one shocked that Obama has made it this far. For me this is a miracle. When think how far the African American man has come in America, this is a very eerie thing for me because this is something that just don’t happen. But now that it has happened. Barrack Obama may very well be the next president of the United States, you can’t help but wonder if we were as evil and racist as a nation as evidence have revealed. Could it be finally white America is allowing their conscious to expand beyond racism to Americanism?

I don’t know because we still struggle as African Americans to be safe and created equal in America. But if this is not the case, then why have white America allowed Obama to arrive to where he stands today? Is it a hidden agenda? Will it be proved that racism has found more sophisticated ways to express itself behind the scenes and it is just waiting for the moment when it will show its ugly head or have we actually evolved into less prejudice beings?

We’ve seen some racial evidence surface but we counteract them properly not allowing them to destroy our hope of establishing a nation tired of corruption. I am so touched by the people of America today. They are fighting for change. When I see a white man trusting Obama I am mesmerized. Their dedication and commitment to seeing him lead us to a better place is overwhelming to me. I have witnessed it more times than I ever imagined. As an African American female in America, I know both sides of the fence of the white Americans being for and against us. I must say it is a two-edged sword America is facing now.

The world is watching us with a magnifying glass. It knows our tendencies to self-destruct. The world is waiting to see if racism will do its evil thing as we seek salvation from corruption. The outsiders are watching us to see if good will prevail thinking it will not because America has gotten its priorities out of place. We have to save ourselves from greedy and corrupted leaderships. If we don’t, the outsiders will close in on us and racism will be invalid from then on end.

Obama is taking on a task of assisting the victimized people of America recover from corruption. John McCain as far as I see is only playing the old political game of controlling people’s lives with no concern for individuals struggling to have a secure life. If we don’t get involve and let it be known that America is not going to take it anymore, we’re going to fight to save our future because our children need hope, then we are wasting our time working everyday. America, it is not just sweet words Obama is speaking. He is revealing our serious need to see and do things differently. This man is risking his and his family’s life to pave a way to saving America from dictatorship. Time and time again, he reminds us we have to work together to save America.

The Choice is Clear: Change or More of the Same (Bush)

Another tactic Obama employs is to use McCain's words against him. He reads them aloud, pauses dramatically and chuckles with the crowd before making his point.
"Sen. McCain said, 'Our dangerous dependence on foreign oil has been 30 years in the making, and was caused by the failure of politicians in Washington to think long-term about the future of the country,'" Obama said Friday in Dayton, Ohio.
"I couldn't agree more," Obama said. Then, smiling and in an incredulous tone, he added: "The only problem is that out of those 30 years, Sen. McCain was in Washington for 26 of them!" The crowd whooped and hollered.
Obama also is taking full advantage of the openings McCain presents.
Shortly after a McCain economic adviser dubbed the United States "a nation of whiners" in a "mental recession," Obama took to the stage in Fairfax, Va., on Thursday and used Phil Gramm's comments to portray McCain as out of touch.
"Let's be clear. This economic downturn is not in your head. It isn't whining to ask government to step in and give families some relief!" Obama said. Mixing humor with an attack, Obama added: "America already has one Dr. Phil. We don't need another one when it comes to the economy!"
This audience ate up Obama's criticism of McCain — just like his crowds do every day.

There comes a time when I just have to push the envelope. That time for me is now.

Yes, I am going to do it again. I am going to apply for and get a high level executive CEO position at a very well known American Fortune 500 Corporation.

If you think it is not possible, then you continue to underestimate my abilities.

This time I am going to do it in front of the camera. Secret camera that is. And the viewer will see and hear exactly how I do it and how corporate America has still not taken seriously their own internal security. Corporate Human Resources is consistently sleeping at the switch and bad guys are allowed to just waltz in and cause havoc. Then they cry foul... that they didn't know. Oh they say that they have the best internal security. Really? We will just have to see won't we?

I am doing it to prove a point, and I am doing it to teach corporate America that if you think you have the best security, I'll prove how wrong you are. But most importantly, if I can do it… who else can do it, and who else is bent on stealing every cent . . . from the inside?

I will prove once again for the 38th time that it is as easy as taking candy from a baby, and how gullible corporate America remains despite ENRON and the Bears Stearns fiascos.

The most difficult part is mastering how to manipulate the background checks. I have found that it is not as hard as one would think. It is actually quite easy if you know how to do it as I do. There is no such thing as a foolproof background check. The only one that works is a Federal NCIC fingerprint check. And that is hard to get, unless of course you commit a crime.

So once again, I am posing as a former CEO with three Masters and a Ph.D. degree from a University that does not exist. And a twenty-year career with the same company that also does not exist.

My asking salary will be well above $500,000.00 minimum plus priceless benefits. After I am hired, and passed all of the background checks, I will reveal who I am and what I just accomplished.

Lucky for me, it is still not illegal to use fraudulent resumes in order to obtain employment.

I will begin the application process at 6:00am on September 1, 2008 in Los Angeles, California.

President George W. Bush ended a private meeting at the G-8 summit with these words:

"Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Prime Minister of Great Britan & Northern Ireland Gordon Brown and French President Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

Mr Bush, whose second and final term as President ends at the end of the year, then left the meeting at the Windsor Hotel in Hokkaido where the leaders of the world's richest nations had been discussing new targets to cut carbon emissions...

...The White House apologized for what it called "sloppy work" and said an official had simply lifted the characterization from the internet without reading it...

We Need A Leader, Not Another Puppet

I'm not saying that it isn't a monumental task to take on the puppeteers that have been allowed to run this country for all these years. But as one of the people born of this country, I wonder when we'll get a leader to actually lead us, the U.S. and perhaps the rest of the world?

For example:
George W. Bush said on Sunday at the G8 Summit he was prepared to be “constructive” in discussions on climate change, although he insisted that any agreement was contingent on the participation of China and India.

Thats like saying, I had my cake and ate it too, but I don't want any of you people to have what I have now. In fact, I will continue to eat my cake and push our world perilously to the edge unless you agree to give up on your progress, and then perhaps I may do something to show that I too am doing something however small, towards a better world.

But really it is the wishes of a few who pull the mouth-strings on our leaderpuppet. They are the ones who are causing all this for their own interests. Its just too bad that our leaderpuppet (thinks), that it is his actions. Just as the German military elite found their leaderpuppet in little Adolf. Our industry rich few have found theirs in the American Presidency.

He basically is saying, I'm king and the only way I'll do something worthy is if you'll give up trying to have a better life.

Here we are, the largest consuming nation of oil hungry gluttons in the world per person and we won't quit until a country with 3 times more people who consume far less than we do per person, stops what they are doing to advance their society which is finally helping the masses?

Leader

Why shouldn't every developing country have their time to thrive? And with the knowledge of today, cut back or even prevent the mistakes they've seen us make in our developing past and the problems we allow our leaders to put us into today?

It just seems all too sad. I may not be able to do much but at least I can help bring it to thought here on the internet where I know there are people with some intelligence who read. Then maybe my small ripple and a few others will become the ripples that build into tidal waves. Won't you be part of that wave and cry out in your own way for a real leader?

Or will you allow the elite few to pull your strings too?

Killing Iranians should not be funny though McCain sure thinks that it is. What would happen if the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, made such a joke about killing Americans? The war drum against Iran would be beaten that much harder.
