Radiohead's acoustic cover of Portishead's "The Rip"
The above video is from Radiohead's blog. Here is the original song by Portishead. I love it when an artist I really like is a fan of another artist I really like (or something like that).

The thoughts that we try to deny - Take a toll upon our lives - Struggle on in depths of pride - Tangled up in single minds - I don't wanna lose, what we had last time your leaving - This life ain't fair - You don't get something for nothing - Turn Back - Gotta try a little harder - It could be...
A thread was posted on a message board I visit asking for summer playlists. I am so proud of mine, I thought I would share it. These are the songs you should all be listening to, to be just. like. me. 'Analog Synths' by The Fitness 'Graveyard Girl' by M83 'Throwin' Shapes' by Minus The Bear 'The...
I love Portishead. Love this.
Okay this album seems to be amazing. I am weary of downloading it since I heard it's so extremely dark even for Portishead but the two songs I've heard I love and each listen has them seem to get better and better. Check out the uniquely animated video for The Rip off their album Third.
portishead have put the new video to the rip out on-line - go get some if that's your thing - it's art all over
OK, there are three songs on Portishead's new album, Third, that make me think of others songs. The first song is "Hunter", which makes me think of a song from the 1992 horror movie, Candyman, by Philip Glass called "Face to Razor". Here are the two songs ... The next song on Third is "The Rip",...
artwork from the box set edition of third by portishead - slip cover art and etched vinyl designs just as dark and moody as the album!
..some songs i'm feelin at the moment - actual playlist embedded below 1. Rising Up - Roots ft. Chrisette Michelle : Off the roots latest album rising down (they're touring right now, with erykah badu in certain cities) great vocals from CM whose done some awesome hooks for jay-z and nas. also...
Awesome. Drool. Beth Gibbons/Geof Barrow, Portishead - Wandering Star
record shops are closing down - TDK D90's seem as historical as noahs ark and the CD is running out of time - this is how third was delivered - you open the lid on the box and this is what greets your wide open eyes.........
Utada Hikaru Heart Station A solid album but not as strong as Ultra Blue. Stay Gold is probably my favorite track - a soulful down tempo piece sung over a simple piano & drum arrangement. Probably the most jarring song on the album is Boku wa Kuma (I'm a Bear) - a theme to a children's show that has...
Coachella Day 2 It didn't take long (just a few hours) for today to eclipse yesterday. Overall, a great day! Traffic was really light and we ended up arriving pretty early. Caught a few songs of VHS or Beta on the main stage. They sounded good, like an upbeat and updated Cure. B Then witnessed some...
In June, 1998 I was in Goleta, California at the U.C. Santa Barbara campus attending a workshop on American economic history when I first encountered Portishead. It was the start of my interest in interesting music and free market economics. A rich tapestry, I know.

Tea with Hungry Lucy, Episode 113 ends with a performance of "Shine" (originally from the album, "To Kill a King"). This version is just electric piano, hammered dulcimer and Christa's delicious vocals. Rather un-electronic for Hungry Lucy. Before the performance, though Christa goes on a rant about...
I saw some photos of Gillian Anderson in Maxim on one of those entertainment shows like Entertainment Tonight or something like that. I actually can't remember which one it was. Anyway, she looks amazing in the photos, and I really liked her character, Scully, on X-Files who tried to be rational and...
