AAA TAipei 1st nite

First nite con finished last nite... i guess all of us are super tired.... after queing for almost 4hrs, we just went back to the hostel... just to bathe and freshen up for the concert..

opening song is love so sweet.. i dont remember well the songlist but they sand one of my faves... asu ni mukatte hoero.... truth, one love... no wish last nite (hoping there is tonite)... ending song is beautiful days... solo songs same in national stadium con.. except jun.. who sang yabai2 :) aiba-kun almost fell as he stepped on the moving cart again har3..... and as it stopped,,, he almost fell again hahahaha i swear aiba-kung looks so much better in person!!! im not saying this because he's my ichiban ne... he really is gorgeous!!!! they all looked good last nite!!!!!

the con started at exactly 7.30pm... and lasted for 2hours, 31minutes and 51seconds :d...

for their individual thank you speeches... it started with sho-kun... same order as last aaa in taipei,,, sho-kun, oh-chan, aiba-kun, nino, matsujun.... i find it cute how aiba-kun sort of like said "yosh" after his part as if saying "what a relief" he didnt make any mistake in his speech (compared to last aaa where he had to repeat a phrase 3x)...

they also sang lucky man and hadashi... their hadashi places were the same as in aaa taipei in 2006... we were seated at the 3rd floor, section I... so just imagine how happy i was that aiba-kun was in that place waaaahhhhh...

they sang this one song which cathy and i are not familiar with... rina said it seems like an old song... hmmm gonna find out later on what it is...

sho-kun looked soooo good!!! kat i swear!!!! ahahahha he danced well (well atleast for me he did har3) .. riida as always dances well and his voice is really great!!!! nino looked so hot in his solo... he wore a dfrent pair of glasses in niji compared to time con... and as expected.. everyone went ga-ga when he removed it :) jun.. oh well jun will always be our domyouji-sama... he sent a flying kiss to people in the 3rd floor waaahhh

they sang 2nd chorus part of a.ra.shi in chinese.... they sang 1st part till 1st chorus of kansha kangeki ame arashi in chinese also.. i dunno what they call that thing.. but its the one they used in blue in aaa taipei 1... it was located in front of 2,8 section... just below the 3rd floor... all of them were in there... it went up... far enuf for people in the 3rd floor to see them clearly...

that's it for now... only 15mins allowed to use the net here in the hotel har3...

will post more when we get back home... oh and by the way we were atthe airport also when they arrived... we had a jun and ohno moment!!! waaaaahhhhh wont elaborate now .... will post more details when we get home!!!

bye for now..... need to eat bfast since we forgot to eat yesterday from too much excitement har3....

I GOT MY AIBA PIXIES TODAY!!!!!!!! asldkfjskdfjlskdjflskdfjlskdfjlskfj They're so beautiful....and hot.....and adorable....and KYAAAAAAAAAAA~~~~~~ Seven of the ten are from the AAA pamphlet shoot, and the other three are the other three are part of the AAA set that has really strange outfits/hairstyles on Aiba and Sho (You can find simlar ones over at arashi_yuuki on LJ). Seeing how good these ones are, I wish I would have picked up my niban Sho's pix set too, but Aiba won because he's atashi no ichiban suki, ne? Maybe even Nino and Riida and Jun's too.... ~~But I'm extremely stingy.~~ So, my first contribution to JE is an Aiba pix set. Not bad.

Skip if you're not interested but: my friend from Japan visited me while she was on vaction here!! I haven't seen her in two years, so it was good to see her again. First, she brought me sushi she made in a beautiful bento box (like the one Tsukushi's mom uses in HYD1) [I didn't get to keep it, but it was pretty]. It was the sushi with ham, carrots, cucumber, egg, and avacado....does it even have a name?? I don't know, but it was so good. The next day, we went to the local mall and ate at a brand new Korean/Japanese restaruant. The sushi was so good, and even she said it was good. I even tried fish sushi, and I hate fish, but the fish was so good it didn't taste like fish at all. I think I had salmon, tuna, and eel (yeah, the eel scared me, but it was kinda like realllllly chewy squid). I also got to try gyoza (which, if I'm not mistaken is Massu's favorite food) which was also very good. Today I went back to the mall to get her birthday presents that she picked out, eucalyptus spearmint body wash and lotion ~~which I'm severely tempted to keep for myself since we have similar tastes~~ and had the California roll again and tamago. I also tried a matcha ice cream mochi, which was really chitchana, probably an inch and a half across, but it was so good!! I hope that restaruant stays open for along time, or at least until I graduate. Oh, and she also brought me an adorably pretty little change purse. I almost don't want to use it, but I may someday. And she also told me about a job teaching English at a language school that she's going to recommend me for...and it's in Chiba ~~so I could stalk Aiba~~ so it would be near Tokyo.....

Ohno and Toma Article Translation/Scans

Okay so I've not seen this scan yet ~~probably because it's in a magazine targeted at elementary school girls~~ so I decided to scan it and translate it, even though it's late. I bought this at a Japanese store I love so much ~~near~~ actually pretty far from home, simply because my cousin's gram asked me if the girl on the front page was Sailor Moon or someone, and I spotted Riida and Toma and grabbed it from her hands. It's only two pages, but the feeling of having my own magazine with Ohno and Toma?? *drools* However, Riida looks tired... T^T

Ribon is the name of the magazine, by the way.

And PS, don't steal my translations, and credit me if you use my scans. This is the first time I've ever done this, so don't make me give it up so quickly. With that, to the interview!!

While acting in the dorama "The Devil" Ohno Satoshi-kun x Ikuta Touma-kun's interview!!
Ribon's big brothers style interview, Ohno-kun and Ikuta-kun's appearance! The inside story of their work as the leading roles in the dorama and their memories from their elementary school years, and how their charm has brought them closer!

Interviewer: Ohno-kun, this is your first dorama role and your first lead role, so how are you feeling?
Ohno: At this kind of interview place, since the other four people (of Arashi) aren't here, I'm feeling a little nervous because it's the first time (without them). Up until now, we would always be saying, "Variety shows are starting!" (Laughs)
Interviewer: About Ikuta-kun, he's been busy with dorama's before.
Ohno: He has great concentration ability. Before the performance, he gets in to character. "I have to concentrate," and he's always in a hurry!!
Interviewer: Has that become your motive?
Ikuta: Ohno-kun and I have the same concentration and enthusiasm for our work. That's one of our various commonalities, but.....those are secrets between us (laughs).
Interviewer: Secrets..... (what a wild idea). Anyway, when was the very first time the two of you met?
Ikuta: I joined Johnny's Jimusho in elementary school, so we didn't meet back then. Ohno-kun had the formation of Arashi, so we couldn't have a proper conversation.
Interviewer: What kind of elementary school student were you?
Ikuta: I was on the local soccer team and had very enthusiasic movements. But lately, I'm on an indoor team. I also watch DVDs, listen to music, and relax.
Ohno: When I was in elementry school, I got hurt alot! Since I tottled around a lot, I was clumsy and would notice blood pouring out when I got hurt.
Interview: My goodness.... (laughs). Well, since you're making the dorama as friends, give messages to each other!
Ohno: "You seem to eat too much ramen."
Ikuta: Fufufu (laughs). Well, from me, "On the days when we don't shoot, please don't go fishing so much."
Ohno: Okay (laughs). Acting seems to have an influence on me.
Interviewer: Well, lastly, please give a message to Ribon readers.
Ohno: Since you're a kid, it's okay to play a lot! I did nothing but play (when I was a kid) and it was very enriching.
Ikuta: I also had an enriching childhood, but I'm sort of jealous of kids these days. Cell phones and fashion.... I want to have fun picking those things too!!!

The pictures just give obvious descriptions of what's going on, except the cake one is Ishizaka Kouji (daddy Serizawa)'s birthday! And the white box gives a description of the dorama.

Aww, imagining Chibi Riida and Toma....but poor Chibi Riida, how could he be so clumsy as a child and such an awesome dancer now?!?

okay okay not really.... >_> but she has taken an interest in him!

a couple of weeks ago i showed her Freestyle (and i should add that she has clearly stated that she is a Ghetto African American Women)

so of course she first notices that Ohno's art is mostly black people:

Teacher: is the artist black?

me: No, he's Japanese. he just tends to draw black people.

Teacher: is it cause we're so charasmatic?

me:*starts giggling* he just says they just naturally become black people.

Teacher: yea, it's cause we're so charasmatic. *smirks*

well he's very good artist, very impressive....

too bad she just skimmed through Freestyle. =P but then that was cause i was bothering her while she had a class. XDD

then yesterday she started asking about Ohno!! =D

basically i was mentioning a bit about Arashi and how he sings and dances and was the first in the company to have an exhibition, blah blah blah..... now i can't remember what else. XDD

but when i showed her a picture of Ohno in Freestyle i could've sworn i heard her mumble that he's "pretty handsome"!!!!! XDDDD

Radio Shows

I feel like a loser 'cause I don't post on LJ anymore....so I'll....crosspost this? Haha, can you do that on your own journals? Well I am. (I also want to be able to use my awesome new icons that I made).

Anyway, today I found a site to dl Arashi's Radio shows!!! I love anything I can find about these guys, so yeah, dling A LOT. I think it's awesome that I can have Aiba-chan's laugh with me on my iPod....and Sho's awesome wordiness....and Nino's baka/awesomeness....and Riida's SUGOKU KANDOU NO KOE....I admit, I was drooling over his voice, even though he only has like one minute shows everyday. Seriously, why doesn't he use it more??? Maybe he has a hard time coming up with stuff on the spot, but then again he's been in so many butais, and those kind of people are suberb on thinking up stuff on the spot. So, I really don't know. I haven't downloaded any of Jun's yet, but I will, don't worry.

I also found a journal of a girl who got NINO'S AUTOGRAPH IN PARIS as I was wandering around the fandom today. うらやましいッスね。 I would have though she would have been killed by the security officers, but SHE GOT PICTURES, TOO. Who was this? None other than winkychan , who also paled around with yuckie_chan in Japan this summer. I didn't know that's who that was before I found her journal.....マジで…すごくな人ッスね。

I also want to say about COOL & SOUL....heheh, predecessor to Re(mark)able, ne?? I had no idea they all could rap (except sort of in La Tormenta 2004) before COOL & SOUL. I like how Sho does that Japanese/English 'story' in the middle of song. "Uhm, the story goes back to the second album, which is four albums ago." I'll be honest, I had a hard time understanding the second part of what he said there, but when comparing it to the Japanese, I got it. I think he used English because of all the overseas fans (Asian, not us who actually live in English speaking countries....do they even know we exist???). I also like the severely long and fast line that Riida has near the beginning...it sounds like he's almost out of breath when he finishes!! It's almost like an anagram sentence (crap, English major can't think of what that's called....マジで…) or Sho's vow on the 24 Hour TV sign board (I vow to make the last day of summer the best day of summer). The rap is also the basis for the BG rap in Hip Hop Boogie and the middle chorus for Anti Anti. So altogether, awesome song.

Arashic solo commentary + ramblings

It's getting cold where I am. Brrr. And and I don't like it.

Anyway, Nino and Ryo's drama is due out in less than two weeks!! I'm expecting a lot of these two (especially Nino), and now after hearing Nino's Baystorm rip of Beautiful Days, I want to see it even more!!

I also downloaded the How's It Going few day ... conference? tour? I'm not sure what to call it, but they did it in March of '03. Lemme just say I WOULD HAVE DIED TO GO TO THAT. Especially when the did the akushu at the end!! Kyaa~~~ I wouldn't have washed my hands for DAYS. Though, I didn't see any Americans there, even though it was in Hawaii. I would have stuck out as the only 'natural' blonde....gahh. Oh well. I still woulda done it. (That makes me wonder....why are there so few Westerners at their cons, tv shows, etc? *cough* language barrier *cough* thousands of miles away *cough*)

Ok, now for more contiguous writing...I just realized within the last two weeks that the Arashic album does in fact have solos on it, it is just in a different way. They do a member's 'song' with the others backing it. I like this way of doing things, though I'm probably more fond of the actual solo/group song differentiation that other albums do. (The solos tend to fit more when they're actually solos as opposed to 'leading' songs.) I also have them ranked, which is why I wanted to write this part.
Ready to Fly
Well, maybe I lied a little, because Ohno's song fits his other solos. That part that's always there at the beginning of English that he can't quite pronounce and has to have the back up singers help him with (sorry Ohno, but English is not your forte ["I don't speak English," ne?]) is almost a requirement for an Ohno song. The song itself doesn't really incorporate the group as much as it could, but I guess it works for Riida because he leads on most of the songs anyway, being the best singer and all. This is my least favorite song of all the solos.
Carmel Song
I actually like this song, as it kind of fits Nino, but the songs he writes himself fit him more (maji de??) so it's not my favorite solo of his. He is also a strong vocal, but more of the group is incorporated than in Riida's song, so perhaps that's why I like it more. It has a cutesy feeling that may have fit Aiba more, however. This song is my third favorite of the solos.
I Want Somebody
Definitely my most favorite of the solos, though that could be associated with the fact that I found it before the other four, probably one of my first Arashi songs, acutally. I love how the others really have to help Jun out (worst singer, yes, but this song does him good, I think), and the song is almost, almost a duet with Riida (best singer). I like the style of the song, too. It's an Arashi song, but it isn't in some ways (just compare the melody to Kitto Daijoubu). I think this song may have fit Sho too, but I'm glad Jun got it because it fits him even more. Not to mention this is one of his only solos I like (Yabai and Tell me What You Wanna Be are the other ones), and I like the AAA version, where the other members helped him out even more.
Secret Eyes
This is not an Aiba song. It may have fit Sho better, just because of the feel it has. His other solos are happy-go-lucky type of things (Itsuka no Summer, Friendship, Hello Goodbye, even Yakushikutte Sukoshi Baka), which I like better. However, I'm not going to discredit his voice (I put him after Riida and Nino), because it does do the song justice. I do like how Sho comes in and does a rap with him (which he doesn't do for the other members[bestest friends, yeah]). The incorporation of everyones' voices is better than the Ohno and Nino's, though. Also, the opening "Kimi nara, kimi dake, mitsumete": I just don't like at all. Again, it would have fit Sho a lot better. Probably my second least favorite song of the solos.
Chou 2 Arigatou
This is my second favorite of the solos. It may be the fact that it's more of an Arashi-ppoi song than the others. I like Sho's voice in this one, and I have an appreciation of his voice because he can do rap and actually sing. However, with ones like Ohno and Nino also in the group, he is by no means the best, though there are worse (sorry Jun...) The song also does the best incorporation of everyone's voices of all the solos, which may be another reason why I like it so much. I'm not sure it could have fit him the best. I think that perhaps if Nino could have had this one, it may have fit better, but Sho seems to be the only one who sings low naturally, so maybe it was a good fit for him vocally.

So, that being said, here's how I would have seen the solos sung to fit everyone better:
Ohno-Ready to Fly-really was a Riida-ppoi song
Nino-Chou 2 Arigatou-the lyrics fit him better than Sho
Jun-I Want Somebody-it also was a Jun-ppoi song
Aiba-Carmel Song-this song matched his other solos better than Secret Eyes, and he could have pulled off the voice
Sho-Secret Eyes-more of a Sho-ppoi song than an Aiba-ppoi song.

This brings me to another fact that I've always wanted to discuss. Ohno has the best voice, and nobody denies it. However, sometimes when they sing at medium pitch, I get sometimes Nino and Ohno confused off the bat, something that goes back to my early days. But if something's particularly high, Nino can do it better than Ohno. On the other hand, Jun does high, but he just doesn't sound good doing it. I really like his solos when he sings medium/low, though the low may be a stretch for him (listen to Truth's "I take your life forever" in the second time through) and the only one who can do low well is Sho (even Riida has a hard time...listen to him at "I take your life forever" the first time through, it sounds like he's struggling, but he struggles well). Aiba has a good range, perhaps the best after Riida, however the low parts of Namida no Nagareboshi seem like he's struggling just a little on. Sho has a lower range than everyone else (I think I've said that enough, ne?). I think the second verse of Truth is a perfect fit for him and Aiba. I used to get him and Aiba mixed up when I was still new to the fandom. I actually do not like how high he has to sing in Kaze no Mukou he, because it seems too high for him, especially when everyone's doing the high parts at the end: "Tsutsuete yuku, yeah!". I think he just should have jumped out of that boat, because it's times like those that are not flattering to his voice at all and he sounds like he's singing through his nose, like Jun. However, I ~~like~~ LOVE his AAA solo Anti Anti, and I think it suits his voice perfectly (did I mention that his English is the easiest to understand out of all Arashi??). Another song that helped me appreciate Sho's voice is the remix of Yes?No? he did at his solo con. Though it's hard to tell how much they really do to their voices digitally, I liked his voice in this song. Now back to group things....I really like the groupings throughout most of the Time album (especially Oh Yeah!) where they put Riida and Sho together and then Nino, Aiba, and Jun together (also Kitto Daijoubu).

Well, I have a few more things I want to say (namely about Maou, upon watching it the second time through), but I think I've written enough for today. Or who knows, I may add more later on today. I'm tempted to head on over to Arashian file and look up more of Sho's solos....but now it's time for lunch and some Bambino!!

Arashi (嵐 lit. storm) is a five-member Japanese Boyband under Johnny & Associates. They made their debut in September 15, 1999 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The group was signed to the Pony Canyon record label from 1999 to 2001 before transitioning to Johnny's Associates-powered J Storm record label in 2002, producing their future singles and albums.
