MT finally got mom to go for a dip in the lake this evening. A bit late, but we had some other things to finish beforehand.... It was a bit on the cold side, though, but the look of the lake was as stunning as ever. I love this big lake and it's sandy border :D I made a scrap page about the dip:

This should be the last post about Glacier. The second trail I did was the Trail of the Cedars. Enormous Cedar trees grow throughout this area of the park. I then took the trail up to Avalanche Lake. About 5 or 6 miles round-trip. Reggae tree. Crystal clear water. Watch out for the Giardia, though!...
Here's the second half of the sunset series from Glacier! These are in time sequence order. So there's a series of photos from the most brilliant sunset I've ever seen... Oh, for comparison, here's a photo from the same vantage point the next day. Compare most closely to image 5947 above. ~Mike

8/12/08 - Still hanging out in Port Angeles The backcountry camping I did for three nights starting last Thursday completely wooped my butt. I realize I didn't quite eat enough for all the hiking I did and it caught up with me, so here I am hanging out in "civilization" kicking back and catching up...
I finally got to join in on one of the ScrapMatters Speed Scraps this afternoon. All the others have been in the middle of the night (my time) and I just couldn't get my self out of bed to join. This one, however, suited me fine (off course MT didn't like it very much so he splashed water all over...
I'm so glad; he still loves his red umbrella!
Enjoying summer life by the sea 8)
We have enjoyed another beautiful day aw the sea. MT is now close to actually really swimming and have spent most of the time in the water IN the water ;-) My back is even redder, though, and we both need some rest so tomorrow the trip down to the beach will probably be a short one :)
MT was so happy to see the small town where we used to live. The journey by bus, though, was a long one ;-)
