New Shelves!
I got these from Crate and Barrel (on sale PLUS I had a coupon, woot!). I'll get better pictures tomorrow when the light is better but I was so excited I had to share!
Came across some filming photos
Filming occurs quite often in Montrose, but we were thrilled when an episode of House was filmed with our store being converted to appear as a French Bistro!

pequeninos prazeres
Composter agitated.
After stirring the contents of the composter a bit, I discovered some huge roaches running around the box. Doctor, is that normal?
The Things on Tuesday, Day 17
Putrid: -I'm homesick again. -We haven't found anyone to take the room in our house yet, and Aimee accidentally told potential roommates to be here at 7. I'll only get home at 7 if I can leave at 6 on the dot, which never happens. Pleasant: -I have tomorrow off! -Conversations with The Quebecois. -I...
Dining Room and Guest Bath
Thank goodness, I picked the smallest room in the house to use this color of red in because it took 4 coats! I honestly thought it would never turn out. This is a 1/2 bath for guests to use. We will have a white chair rail between the colors. This is a view of the dining room from the kitchen. There...
Inaugural Bake
The appliances in my house were all installed about fourteen years before we moved in. Counting our eleven years here, they would be twenty-five years old. However, one by one, we've replaced them. The oven was never what we regard in top shape. The clock showed "6:20" for eleven years. The...
Hitler House!
Hitler House?...Sounds likea halfway house or hostel or somethin' don't it? Well...it AIN'T! Now I have to admit that I am fascinated with creepy Ol' Adolf...NOT that I have any of his leanings, but because he was ONE man that turned the entire world upside down and shook it right down to it...
Things on Thursday
Thumbs Down: A woman looked at our house last week and just loved it. She brought her husband to see it on Monday and he was very quiet except to say one of the bathroom's needed remodeling and they'd already done a lot of that on their current house. Our realtor is hoping the woman just needed some...
Candle
It is better to light just one candle...than to clean the whole house Original Photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cuppini/632530852/sizes/s/
House Exterior
The stucco guy estimated it would take about a month to do our house. Well, 3 months later, it's finally done! Aside from taking forever, he didn't do a very quality job but it looks great from a distance!

our backyard is so embarrassing (so I'm posting photos of it on the internet). We had hired gardeners who were supposed to come this day to rip it all out... they flaked (several times), we hired someone else and it has since been completed. those photos come later. why yes that is a black berry...

Heavy fog from my front door
October 29th, 2009
Bills, bills, bills....I hate paying bills, but I suppose it's a necessary evil. Too bad that you don't get much for your money these days. We are fast approaching Halloween, one of my favorite holidays of the year. I have just moved into my new house this week, thanks to all of my "special friends"...
The Joys of Home Ownership
Being a homeowner at Lake Tahoe is an exercise in quirkiness, frustration and required inventiveness. Beyond all the zoning regulations required for something as seemingly simple as tree removal, there’s the inherent silliness of home construction. For many middle-class folks, buying an older...
The house from Ringgit Kasorrga.
I found the house which was used as Meera's residence in the 1995 film Ringgit Kasorrga, which I have written about early this year. A freeze from the film- How it is today- Architecturally, nothing has changed, other than the shelter extension on the balcony. No bamboo trees, too. This house is...
