After the trip

After nearly 5 hours on the boat and 4 hours on the Island Kristy crashes 5 minutes after walking back in the room. Note: Photo taken using a telephoto lens so I did not have to get too close to the sleeping bear.

5/8/08 Company Barracks

The raised area on the ground was the site of the original comany barracks. it was apparently 3 stories tall. Can you imagine nearly 1500 men in there with no air conditioning and the ocean breeze blocked by the fort walls.

These are boats used by Cuban refugees to get to the island. They are basically wooden boats with what looked like car engines to me.
