My current reading, "Will in the World" is rather going slowly... It's very detailed and thorough, but it keeps going back and forth too much. One page, the author talks about the days Will was young, suddenly he starts to talk about his mental stage at the old age. It's nice that he entwines the reasons and theories of his materials to his life, but c'mon...

It still is a good book though. .. Oh this is not a book review on that book, is it?

OK. I just got a new fictional book (historical novel) by Alison Weir. I LOVED her first book "Innocent Traitor" (OK, her first novel). She has what Philipa Gregory doesn't have. The massive knowledge on English history! While I enjoyed Philipa Gregory's novels immensely, as a self-proclaimed English history buff, I was often horrified by her historical interpretations. "It's a great story and all, but they did not speak like that!!!" kind of stuff.

It doesn't happen with Alison Weir and she IS a superb storyteller. I wonder why it took so long for her to start writing these novels! I know she was busy writing other fantastic books! Anyway, I was very, very excited to find out she wrote her second book "Lady Elizabeth". I bought it on Amazon.com as soon as it was published. However, I have to finish rather tedious Will in the World first, so I will start probably in a few weeks I guess. Yipee!!

After finishing Henry VIII: The King and His Court, I thought it'd be only relevant to move on to the next generation, which is the Elizabethan era. How the British theatre was formed in this era is quite fascinating. Actually I've started to read this book a few years ago when it first came out then I strayed. It kind of happens with me a lot! Start on one book, but ending up with another book. I don't know why... Anyway, this time I intend to finish it. :-)
