As we commonly know Arrows are part and parcel of the army,but didn't know that they do divert like the "Guided Arrows" of the Amazon in Diablo 2.

This happened yesterday when my dear OC summoned us down ,our elite platoon i mean , to his office. What happened after that means more works for us this week. Lack of sleep due to Saturday night clubbing followed by an intensive soccer session on Sunday followed by a AHM training run yesterday made my body weak.

I am dumbfounded , my sleeping plans after lunch is gone. I can see how the expression of my PC evolved from being relax to become one that is under tremendous stress.

He is still brooding about it when we are trying to do something that may lessen our workload for the week. He just need to relax man,what for rushing it when you can't do a shit about it? Maybe organizing the BBQ this Friday is still on his mind.

End of EPL season, man,how should i spend my weekends? beside going to club sometimes,what should i watch on the television? Starhub is jacking up all the prices for all they could every year.

On a side note, I am so elated that my Dad isn't suffering from any thing serious after the check up. At least part of the midst that surround these gloomy past weeks have been cleared.

FNAC is a chain of stores throughout France and heaven for any enthusiasts of French Music and original language dvds like myself. When I first discovered the store four years ago I was agog at the huge selection of comic books or BDs on sale there; browsed mostly by adults. I have shopped there ever since and been able to build up a nice selection of contemporary French music cds at very reasonable prices.

Alignment

Tonight at Columbia Metro we continue in our series on Jonah. Jonah is a unique character because his story is told over and over and over again. But with the telling of the story you miss the actual account of what God does through Jonah. If you really know the cicumstances at Ninevah it is a lot easier to sympathize with Jonah. He obviously was a man who was running from God. As we looked at Jonah 1 last week it is easy to realize there are times when you might not be running but times when you allow yourself to drift away from the Lord and never realize that all of a sudden you are sailing in the wrong direction. Tonight we are looking at Jonah chapter 2 and his response to being inside the great fish and his prayer. It took God using a great fish to grab his attention but I love the transformation that you see in this passage. Jonah becomes a man whose heart is back in alignment with the Lord.

Our God is a God of forgiveness and restoration and I am eternally grateful for that. I don't always get it right, I make mistakes, but my God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and He gives me the ability to learn from my mistakes, and move on.

As I am teaching the account of Jonah and studying the life of David personally I continually see how God worked in each of their lives and am reminded of what God has done and is doing in mine. My study of David is a journey to truly become a man after God's own heart. I want my heart to be in alignment with the heart of God and I want to be a man who is in tune with the Spirit constantly.

Today's verse for my family is:
Psalm 29:11

"The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace."

I pray today for my home to be a home of peace, for Camden, Landon, and Mandy and for them to walk in the strength of our Lord and to experience His peace each and everyday.

When I daydream, I mostly think about how I would my family's life to be. Nothing crazy. A nice house in the countryside with about 5-10 acres of land, all of our bills paid off except maybe our home, with plenty of free time to spend with the family, the ability to do what we want and pursue our interests without worrying about the things people typical worry about.

I always think how nice it would be to get up in the morning and not think about having to go to work. I could wake up, go running, do some reading, work in the garden, build things and work on projects that interest me. I'd like to learn more about electronics and making things you find in Make and on Instructables. I miss the old RadioShack.

Manchester 2.0

So it is a return to form for THE musical city of the UK, with The Courteeners, Twisted Wheel and The Ting Tings all securing major lable contracts, the city must be a buzzing hive of activity once again...er not exactly...

I'm a big fan of the Ting Tings, it is nice to see a refreshing take from a band that doesn;t invoke the Spirits of The Past, they also seem keen to impress and I find this an endearing trait.

The Courteeners are IMHO nothing more than avergae, after the hype has died down you have maybe one catchy track, I've given the album five complete listens and I don't really want to bother again. Before I get shot down by all the lovers of this band my reasons are:

If you claim an album is going to top Definitely Maybe and The Stone Roses you'd better make damn sure you come good on those claims.

If these claims had not been bandied around I would have listened witha clean slate and taken the album for what it is, an inoffensive, mediocre collection of songs. Put in the above context it suffers even more, as the brouhaha around the roses and Oasis has gone, yet the songs are still timeless...

Twisted Wheel seem to have a little more about them,a nd have not resorted to slagging people to get their name about, so I look forward to seeing what they produce...

Back to may original point: manchester is not the massive hive of activity that is being reported. You can walk around the Northern Quarter and other musical areas Monday to Wednesday and there is nothing about. It has nothing to do with band quality or whatnot there is literally nobody out.

'But it's early in the week!' I hear you cry. Doesn;t matter, a truly buzzing city would be buzzing any day of the week.
In fairness it only really gets busy when the more established acts play. Night & Day will be dead for 4/5 out of 7 days a week then will be packed to the rafters, then a ghost town. Ditto for most other places.

It's not for want of trying, some great promoters are abounds: Buff Bang Pow!, FictionNonFiction, SA Promotions, Friends of Mine, Rich at Night & Day, Big Phil at Dry certainly puts the effort in.

I've been to some gigs with stellar lineups but no great number of audience. Case in point FNF at Tiger Lounge recently, a great lineup, but being a Tuesday, sparsely attended. They do seem to have the feast or famine situation.

Point is this: the city is now overly saturated with bands. Most are utter gash. some are good. Even less are great. Without securing some kind of constant media coverage in the area (radio, press, TV) the great bands are struggling in a stagnant pond of shit. Majority of people cannot be bothered to trawl through the gash to find the great.

Add to this the disgusting concept of pay to play, which is rubbish all round. Promoter does fuck all, takes 80% of the door after band slogs to pre-sell tickets to friends and family. They think hey, well at least there will be others around.

FUCK NO. These type of shows have brought about the pointless trend of:

Band 1 goes on, plays to audience they brought.
Band 1 leave, so does their audience.

Band 2 goes on, plays to their audience
Band 2 leaves, so does alalalalalalla etc etc etc

Needless to say we wised up to these kind of gigs straight away. Utterly poitnless.

In summary, I'm glad we have the spotlight back on our city, but do not kid yourself that it has breathed new life into the city as a whole...

I was thinking about what we inherit the other day. You know what I mean, you may have your dad's eyes and your moms nose. But what if we could pick what we inherited down the pipe? These are the things I would like to have.

My fathers ability to listen and his thoughtfullness.

My mothers love of learning, she truely enjoys the whole acedemic process... waaaaaay more than I do.

Donita's greatness in standing up for herself and what she believes in. It may not be the most popular thought, but if she knows its right to her that is what she does.

Deidres abilty to love everyone without care for social rules and status. She just loves.

3 yr old has NEVER slept

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A 3-year-old Florida boy with a rare condition has not slept in three years. Doctors said Rhett Lamb of St. Petersburg apparently has a condition called chiari malformation that puts pressure on his brain.

Rhett has never taken a nap or gone to sleep at night, forcing his parents to keep watch day and night.

"(My husband) has the day shift and I kind of have the afternoon shift," mother Shannon Lamb said. "We share the night shift because no one can sleep in the house when he is up anyway."

Lamb said she is working extra to pay for Rhett's large medical bills. She also said her husband, David, has given up his job to care for their child.

"I would give anything for Rhett to be this normal little boy who plays and has a good time," Lamb said. "If it takes going to every single solitary doctor, I will do it."

According to the May Clinic, chiari malformation is a rare abnormality where brain tissue protrudes in the spinal canal.

Part of the skull is abnormally small and puts pressure on the brain. Rhett checked into a hospital for an experimental surgery Thursday.

When I was growing up I had a really great friend her name, Anna, we meet when I was seventeen and well we just clicked and became the best of friends. We hung out all the time we even worked together. We went to midnight mass one Christmas drunk as anything and now when I think of it I laugh my head off.
Well we lost contact when I joined Defence, on Monday (I think she sent it on Friday, yeah it was Friday..see what old age does to you :)) of this week well she emailed me, she found my profile on a web site and sent an email to see if it was me.

Well we have been catching up and it is just so great to remember times when you would laugh and drink and dance and have not a care in the world and the best part is, we had this time together.

She told me tonight she has had open heart surgery, that is a bit scary and she has been married twice and has two children. She is not happy in her marriage I hope she can sort it out.

You know when you have those friends that you can tell anything and you know that they will love you anyway..well she is like that. I outed myself to her tonight, she said she thought so anyway. I know that I would still do anything for her. She is so much like me in so many ways.

Tonight she told me that she thought I was always the confident one when we were growing up, but I always saw her as the strong confident one, it was funny to hear that we both thought the same thing about each other.

Gee I love my friend, I wish I could help her, she seems a little lost at the moment..hopefully she will visit and we can talk more.

Anyway I just had to say, there is nothing on this planet as wonderful as your friends..treat them kindly and look out for them.

Didn't eat dinner last night, and thus I woke up sick to my stomach. It's an over cast day, which promises a better day ahead, at least for me. There is a lot on my mind, so much in fact that I am having trouble getting my proprieties straight. I keep saying "Tomorrow, I'll begin tomorrow" or "I'll begin next week". I woke up this morning feeling the weight of all the unfulfilled yesterdays on looming over me.

outside my apartment complex at 15 til 7 am. I was almost into sleepymode, after having to deal with the now semi-permanent balcony cat (she pisses all over my apartment and i've finally had enough) and her consistent meowing. I go out to smoke, to finally chill out and relax and induce the sleepiness more. Next thing I know a SUV blows a tire and smacks into the front end of a Special Services Transit Bus (like for old people?). I just blew my good deed for the month and called 911 for EMS services, cause who knows, maybe an old lady on the bus just had a heart attack and needs some quick assistance.

Now I've had to take a vicodin ES and hope that it kicks in, and soon. Go go working 3pm to midnight and having to sleep through all this crap. Let's just hope it kicks in and balcony cat doesn't start howling outside again...

Grrrrrr.

The good news for Pumla Mkatali arrived too late. Two years may not be much sand within the hourglass of eternity, but it makes a big difference in a human lifetime.

A Pretoria judge ruled that she had the right to keep secrets from her husband. So, if she didn't want to tell him about the SMS (text message) she received late one night then she didn't have to share it ... no matter what their normal marital agreement was. That good news also arrived too late and in bad circumstances for her high ranking government official husband, David Linley Sonkosi. Perhaps if he had known the law he would not have beaten her to death because she wouldn't tell him who she got the message from or what it was about.
