"I have appeared unto thee for this purpose." Acts 26:16 Have you ever wondered why God doesn’t immediately take us up to heaven the second that we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord? Rather than bringing us home, He instead sends His Holy Spirit to live within us to guide us during our remaining days here on the earth. In essence God has adopted us for all eternity as His children, yet He leaves us here in a cursed world for a very important purpose. I believe our main purpose is to know and glorify our Lord by witnessing to the lost world our love, devotion and absolute dependence on Him. Sadly, much of my time is often spent trying to cut my own way through this life, I am too proud to submit myself to the God who has adopted me as his own child. Look Again and Consecrate, VerseVisions Art; Matthew 6:30

"If God so clothe the grass of the field . . . shall He not much more clothe you?" Matthew 6:30 We have a field of sunflowers near our home that a farmer plants every summer. When the field is in full bloom it is amazing to see the majestic blooming flowers standing and waving under the bright sun. Although the road is busy you can’t help yourself but to slow down to take in the beauty and peace of the moment as you pass by. I wish I could have been there to see how the crowd received Jesus’ message when he spoke these words. What a contrast to consider how God cares for even the flowers and birds of His creation. The flowers of the field bloom in response to His provision, the birds sing to Him in joy during the day. How much more simple would my life be if I would only consecrate myself to consider and honor Him as the Almighty Living God who calls me by my name? Saul had his religion all figured out, yet he had devoted his life to serve a God that he really didn’t know. As a follower of Jesus Christ I also wonder sometimes if my “religion” is my way of serving myself, or if I am really living for my Lord?
