Dr. Ronald S. Federici is the author of the esteemed 1998 psychology text Help for the Hopeless Child: A Guide for Families (with Special Discussion for Assessment and Treatment of the Post-Institutionalized Child), which is now in its second edition. Dr. Federici earned his B.S. in Organic Chemistry and Clinical Psychology in 1980 at Purdue University and went on to earn his first Masters degree in Biological/Physiological Psychology from the University of Chicago in 1981. In 1983, Dr. Federici earned a second Masters degree in Neuropsychology from the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and two years later, he also earned a dual Doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology and Child Development from the University of Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Ronald Federici opened his practice Neuropsychological and Family Therapy Associates in McLean, Virginia in 1986. Today, in addition to serving as the practices Clinical Supervisor, Dr. Federici is also the acting Director. The world-renowned practice specializes in the treatment of internationally and domestically adopted children with severe trauma, fetal alcohol syndrome, deprivation, family discord, violent behavior, attachment disorders, behavior problems, and school problems. Because of his specialized understanding of adoption cases, Dr. Ronald Federici has become the countrys foremost expert in the genre. In addition to practicing at Neuropsychological and Family Therapy Associates, Dr. Ronald Federici is also the Staff Neuropsychologist at Alexandria, Virginias Mt. Sarah Palin began building clout in her state's political circles in part by serving as a director of an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens. Palin's name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers of the "Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.," a 527 group that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her name was replaced on state filings. Palin's relationship with Alaska's senior senator may be one of the more complicated aspects of her new position as Sen. John McCain's running mate; Stevens was indicted in July 2008 on seven counts of corruption. Palin, an anti-corruption crusader in Alaska, had called on Stevens to be open about the issues behind the investigation. But she also held a joint news conference with him in July, before he was indicted, to make clear she had not abandoned him politically.

Last night was the sixth anniversary of the evening Jon and I stood on a cliff in Yosemite National Park and vowed to give each other shit for the rest of our lives. This weekend that we have spent in San Francisco at a three-day music festival was planned at the last moment, and it was something we thought would appropriately commemorate this anniversary. He and I met at a music festival in Utah in 1997. He was married to someone else at the time, and I knew this, respected this, had heard stories about him from some of his close friends, but I couldn't help falling in love with him on that very hot summer afternoon. And he was totally oblivious.
