This book is about extreme ultramarathon events. From the classic 56 mile Comrades in South Africa... to the multiday Marathon Des Sables across the Sahara... to 135 mile Badwater across Death Valley in the heat of the summer... to the bitter cold of the Yukon 460 mile Artic Ultra.. to the 125 mile 6 day stage Jungle Marathon in Brazil... and 19 others... this book reviews some of the most extreme ultrarunning events in the world.

The photos are great; you'll want to leave this book out on your coffee table. An enjoyable read that will inspire current and future ultrarunners.

I might never get to run any of these, and indeed I may never want to, but I can dream, can't I?
