Yesterday was a very interesting day. I heard that there will be an Anime projection in the culture center where I go often so I went after German class to see it. I was afraid that the choice of anime will be something with allot of violence and will show anime (and japan) in a wrong light. It wasn't. The anime was really great . 時をかける少女, Toki o Kakeru Shōjo is really a great anime. It shows ...
Leila's father came to the U.S. from Zimbabwe, but she's never been there herself. Lately, though, she's had a jones to visit the land of her ancestors, especially now that she's been to Europe twice already, and she's constantly calling Sylvia and they're talking on the phone for hours about taking a trip out there next Summer. Sylvia's become very taken with the idea, thinking that maybe she ...
Last night, my husband and I were busy making 2 types of salads, the coleslaw and the potato salad, I did the chopping and he did the mixing of the sauce, we made a great team although we seem to be bumping each other to get one thing or another, considering how big he is and well yes, I cant say Im small too but I'll blame the kitchen coz it's small hehe. Once we're done, put them into the f...
Wait for Amazon to ship. Go to Borders for a latte and a bestseller? Ever buy used? Abebooks, 10,000 book stores combined with plenty of used books. Amazon Marketplace too! Myself, I am hunting at the Library Book sale. Always surprised by the finds. Bought a book for $1, sold on eBay for $61 to a nice fellow in London. He was happy and so was I. Currently have seventy plus boxes of boo...
Mayo's Bento #3 - Turkey Rolls
So, this was from either the 21st or the 28th of April, I forget. And I didn't get a picture. But here it is anyways. In the left side of the box were two mini turkey/lettuce rolls skewered with one of my new food picks and the right side was part of a chocolate chocolate chip brownie. The sidecar had golden oreos with chocolate creme.
Show us the person you'd most like to switch bodies and lives with for one freaky Friday. I've often said that I'd just like to BE Neil Gaiman. To have all those ideas in my head, and to have the life he lives - writing, traveling, zillions of weirdo fans...! LOL
What it means to be from Oklahoma.
A friend of mine sent this to me in email so I thought I would share these wonderful Oklahoma Factoids with you. I, regrettably, don't know the original source of this wisdom. These factoids may not all be true but they are tru-ish. Most of the misspellings in this post are deliberate. Those of you who know me remember how hard I tried to teach our exchange students the nuances of the 'Okie...
O-Chan is finally able to take the lead is a drama!!! And even better news... his co-star is Ikuta Toma! I can't even say how excited I was when I heard this!! The drama is called 'Maou' (The Devil) and Ohno will be playing a lawyer who has two very different sides to his personality - one kind and caring and the other cruel and calculated. Toma will be playing a detective I think. I'm so happ...
Ahhhhhh. A week ago I was still in the glorious 85 degree weather of the Bahamas!! Vacation was wonderful. Took alot of photos! These are some of my favorite ones: This was my view that I woke up to every day. It looked like this every day too for a week. Well, except Wednesday when it was raining until about 11am...but then SUNSHINE! My drink of choice. The strawberry daiquiri. YU...
Still Day 59 - 5.9.08 Yeah, I'm posting again today, even though it'll be a short one for now, and I may post AGAIN before the day is out, so suck it! And so I give you my favorite line from NBC TV last night: "This is a virtual guaranteed disaster, worse than eating a burrito just before sex." 30 Rock
