Elizabethtown

This film spoke to me. Not with witty one liners or philosophical introspections. It said more in its silent moments than anywhere else. The person who wrote this film obviously knew what it felt like to lose someone close to them. It brought back a lot of really painful memories, primarily of my relationship with my mother...memories that I have yet to deal with. So that sucks. But goo...

A Greater Degree of Success

Things went much better this week. Didn't get to the checkride last week, but I got to it on Monday, and passed with... well, maybe not flying colors so much, but taxiing colors at the least. Still, passing a checkride on what was in my opinion one of my worse days in the air is probably a good sign, right? More importantly, I soloed today! It was only a pattern solo, so I was only flying l...

Another Reason to Blog

A few months ago I started getting into my reader, adding a ton of subscriptions and making plans for less TV. Not too surprisingly I've almost entirely been ignoring the tech feeds (not great for work) and have been engrossed in many design, fashion, photography and art blogs. Apparently I've rediscovered my inner design goddess. In my next life I want to make something with my hands as a c...

Norwich-Elephants

For most people who know me, I'm going to Norwich school of Art and design in September and i recently went up there to look at houses, while i was there we went into the town centre where painted elephants have taken over and dominating proudly made by artists and local community groups. A similar idea to that of the bannana lambs.

Ordering Woes from The Independent Artists

Personally, I am distressed of *trying* to support many artists with me buying their work but now I am absolutely flustered and upset by the lack of professionalism I am currently experiencing. I ordered a book from a personal web store and paid with paypal for the item. It has now been a month without the item I have ordered. I have emailed the individual twice without any answers to my inqui...

Fluc You Too

A simple joke and quite funny play on accents around the world. I had a bunch of SA rands I needed to exchange, so I went to the currency exchange window at the local bank. I stood in the short line. Just one lady in front of me . . . an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars and she was a little irritated. She asked the teller, "Why it change?? Yesterday, I get two hunat...

Outdoor furniture

I have been talking about home and garden in my earlier post. I didn't forget about Outdoor Furniture . Tell me what kind of outdoor furniture do you have. I like to know about it as currently I am looking at the Hammocks & Porch Swings. I haven't seen anyone in the neighbourhood that put this up, what do you think about it? Outdoor Benches are the most common used in my neighbourhood. I have...
