I was not a big fan of Donald Trump’s Wednesday night immigration speech, but some of America’s leading white nationalists took a very different view.
Jared Taylor, editor of American Renaissance and author of White Identity: Racial Consciousness in the 21st Century, was positively effusive:
#TrumpAZ Donald Trump has tied our foolish immigration policies to every problem we have. This is a epochal, historic, unprecedented.

The former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke also liked it:
Excellent speech by Donald Trump tonight. Deport criminal aliens, end catch and release, enforce immigration laws & America First.

Taylor is, however, concerned that the media will “twist” Trump’s words:
#TrumpAZ Hell of a speech. Almost perfect. Logical, deeply felt, and powerfully delivered. Now watch how the media twists it.

So I think we should try to be clear. What Trump did was tie all of the nation’s problems to immigrants from Latin America in the course of delivering a speech that brought joy to the hearts of white supremacists. Don’t let anyone twist it.
